Sheriff’s Detectives have confirmed the arrest of another juvenile in connection with the social media threats targeting Peabody Magnet High School and Alexandria Senior High School earlier today.
The juvenile has been booked into the Renaissance Home for Youth on a charge of terrorizing.
Authorities say this threat was also determined to be non-credible, but the investigation remains active and more arrests are possible.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the RPSO Criminal Investigation Division at 318-473-6727, the Main Office at 318-473-6700, or Crime Stoppers at 318-443-7867.
Sheriff Mark Wood praised the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies:
“I would like to commend our Detectives, Juvenile and Cyber Crime Unit for their diligence in this investigation. I would also like to extend our appreciation to the Rapides Parish School Board, Superintendent Powell and their team, the Alexandria Police Department, the Pineville Police Department, LC Police and the Louisiana State Police for their assistance in today’s events. But most of all, I want to thank the parents for their patience and understanding during this very scary and difficult time. We will continue to do everything in our power to safeguard our children’s safety but also, as a society, we cannot live in fear.”
