Had a great head to head duel with Kiptanui Rodgers of Kenya for 18km, then managed to pull away by running the final 3 kilometers in 3:22, 3:12 and 3:03. The humidity and multiple turns around the Marina Barrage area made it tough for both of us but it probably helped me in this duel as I'm more used to these conditions, having run along the same area after work many times.

Train hard, believe in yourself and on race day, anything can happen.
