A cuckoo clock is a kind of clock that usually works with a pendulum. It makes a sound that resembles a cuckoo's call every hour and has a little cuckoo bird that pops out with each sound. No one really knows who created the cuckoo clock or where it was first made. Many believe that it was mostly developed in the Black Forest region of Germany. We got ours when we visited the Black Forest back in 2001. It still works perfectly today. It's a wonderful souvenir that we will always cherish and admire.

From the Oktoberfest 2025 location at Theresienwiese (commonly referred to as the "Wiesn"), we made our way to Karlsplatz (Stachus). We enjoyed a brief train journey on the U-Bahn and S-Bahn. Given the Oktoberfest festivities, the train was crowded with individuals, the majority of whom were clad in traditional German clothing, some appearing to be inebriated, alongside uniformed personnel prepared to assist in any manner possible. It was truly an unforgettable experience to recount and share.

Eating these grilled mackerels has been on my bucket list since my last visit to Oktoberfest in 2014. At that time, we chose to order pork hock, also known as pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe in German). This dish is quite similar to the Filipino crispy pata.

Grilled mackerel is a well-known delicacy at Oktoberfest, referred to as Steckerifisch in German (fish on a stick), which is a fish prepared on a stick. It is a traditional Bavarian dish where a whole, cleaned fish is seasoned and grilled over an open flame.

Another item on my bucket list has been accomplished, a memory to cherish and share.
