Co-founded by Chris Wright CBE and Terry Ellis in 1968, Chrysalis Records went on to enjoy tremendous success in the UK and internationally, launching and developing the careers of countless artists, before it was sold to EMI in 1989
. Entering a new phase, Chrysalis Records has been bought by Blue Raincoat Music, an agreement which sees original owner Chris Wright reunited with the legendary label as Non-Executive Chairman. Led by industry heavyweights Jeremy Lascelles and Robin Millar, Blue Raincoat Music aims to bring back the true spirit of independent music to the business, revitalising Chrysalis Record’s impressive catalogue, whilst enhancing it for the digital age and offering a new home for established artists.
