The project is a dark yet euphoric tale that delves deep into the experience of LGBTQ+ individuals during a time marked by homophobia and oppressive social norms. Against the backdrop of Thatcherism and a conservative government, Smalltown Boy chronicles the journey of a q***r individual forced to leave their hometown due to prejudice and discrimination.

The exhibition includes the original photographs of Bronski Beat from Steve Rapport, which have been painted over from Scottish artist Joe Henry, adding a layer of colour and nostalgia.
The exhibition will launch at SWG3 Zinc Bar on Friday 23rd August at 6pm (Free Entry)
Then continues in the Warehouse (Ticketed)
