I enjoyed listening to this woman’s take on #rebdolls owner coming out and expressing concern for her business survival. The comments on the original post does indeed speak to a larger conversation that we must have about the over consumption of everything including fashion. When I learned more about fast fashion and the waste of it all the clothes no longer look as good. But when you also work side by side with black business owners who have dreams and visions and they are being the answers to the community but their is not appreciation it’s very sad. There are many talented designers, boutique owners, stylist and those who cater to the fashion industry but the greed supersedes the needs in this industry and others. The ignorance of the consumers causes burnout and frustration that cannot be expressed bc the people within the system pour so much of their lives into their crafts and depend upon a system of lies and illusion. It’s a never ending cycle where everyone is paying to make it look good.
