On 7th October 2024, University Department of Information Technology and Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies organized a session on Computational Finance.
The session had a key presence of Prof.Robert Simon, Executive Director - Master of Science in Computational Finance (MSCF) Program at Carnegie Mellon University.
The session began with a brief introduction about the Computational Finance industry following with topics such as Quant Finance Overview , MSCF Program Overview , Application Requirements & Admission Criteria, Grad School Application Tips and also about Quant Finance Resources. Students were also briefed about the sample of Recruiters and Job Functions such as Quant Research, Portfolio Management, Sales and Trading , Data Science , Strats & Modelling and Risk Management. The program concluded with a Q&A session on financial engineering landscape, role and employers, application process and requirements, CMU specific programs and potential compensation outcomes.
The students gained valuable insights from this session,which broadened their understanding and provided them with practical knowledge. We are confident that these learnings will be instrumental in their personal and professional growth.
