The event starts before the event âš
Beginning of the week usually means planning whatâs coming next. Emails, meetings, schedules â and starting to build the soundtrack.
Sometimes clients know exactly what they want to hear. Sometimes they know exactly what they donât want to hear. And sometimes I just get to play it by ear â or by feel, to be real.
Fast-forward the part of the event Iâm playing. Arrivals need something different from cocktails. Dinner is different from the party. And even with the same people in the same room, the music has a different job throughout the day.
The good thing about having done this for quite a few years now is that Iâve already put together hundreds and hundreds of playlists to go through â so I (almost) always have somewhere to start. đ€©
The rest gets crafted in the moment based on the people, the place and eventually the room itself.
And realistically speaking â expect the unexpected. In moderation, of course.
