Village hero.

He’s the type of guy that makes popping into the village for a pint of milk an adventure.

Hutch’s Defender frame may not be the most expensive or luxurious in the car park, but every time I walk back towards him, I smile.

There’s something about the character of an old Land Rover which makes you feel as though a friend is waiting for you, ready to support you through anything the journey might throw at you… Even if that means simply lowering your groceries into the cubby box, rolling the windows all the way down, and turning up the music for a few minutes of joy on the way home 💚.

Have a lovely week, everyone!

Demure or daring?

Ad When London calls, ’s boldly feminine suit is the answer to this Cotswold girl’s wardrobe dilemmas! Much like Land Rover driving, this fashion is anything but fast… And once again, I’m finding joy in the slow lane.

Cut in London from exquisitely soft fabric, luxe horn buttons and superb zips adorn the silk lined pieces. The blazer’s unique shape hugs the waist and offers space for curves, and the matching skirts come in two lengths - a demure and flattering pencil midi, and a daring mini - for the brave at heart.

Although most of my life is spent in the countryside, there are still times when I need to jump into the Defender and head to the city, and the day job requires me to switch out of wellies and into something a lot smarter. The Paget London blazer and pencil skirt would be my personal choice - it’s the type of outfit that makes you feel like you can take on the world 💙.

Pencil or mini… Which would you choose?

Dressed for love.

After touching down from a break in Santorini, it was time for a swift change into wedding attire for our friends’ big day.

I love June events in England. The ideal temperature for wearing floaty dresses in gardens popping with flowers. Taking inspiration from the season, I wore a pale blue dress with yellow roses, and matching blue stilettos. I’m not attending Royal Ascot, but if I was, I would be repeating this outfit immediately.

The early morning Defender drive across The Cotswolds towards Broadway gave us the usual treat of seeing stone homes turn a more honey shade, and we so enjoyed the hum of the Land Rover tyres through the deep green tree tunnels.

Al was on Best Man duty, and of course, Hutch got involved as the groom’s transport, so I spent the first part of the day sitting in the garden at the wedding venue in my dress, reading a book in the sunshine with a coffee. I’ve never had a more relaxed start to an event and I highly recommend it!

It’s always such an honour to attend a wedding, and this one was a day that was all about happiness and love (plus a Defender). Just perfect.

I parked a donkey in a field of stallions.

What an incredible way to spend a day. The Holland Cooper boutique and atelier became home to a pack of Ferraris - and Hutch, of course - and I had the opportunity to drive the one and only 12Cilindri.

Powered by a 6.5l V12, the 819bph is just a little more than I’m used to in the Defender..! Thankfully while out on a little Cotswold spin, I was accompanied by an amazing instructor who challenged me to put my foot down. The Stig I am not… But that feeling of sheer power will stick with me for a long time. I can see why Ferrari owners tend to continue adding to their collections!

It’s no secret that I love Holland Cooper, and today was also a chance to explore the atelier and the bespoke tailoring experience. This beautiful brand keeps winning my heart, over and over. Watch this space.

Huge thanks to the wonderful .m.kilshaw and the team, and to the team at for a unique day with such lovely and interesting people. Truly grateful ☺️.

And don’t worry. I still love my ‘donkey’ very much and intend to remain a Landy lady always, no matter what other vehicles join the farmhouse stable over the years!

A Landy trip in cowgirl kicks 👢

We took a Defender drive across to Badminton Horse Trials yesterday, and I was amazed at how big this event has become. Whether you’re in it for the incredible horses and riders, the shopping, or the social scene, I highly recommend it for a fun day out. The car park was suitably stocked with Land Rovers, so anyone Defender spotting would have been in their element!

We were treated to the most glorious weather, which called for the layers to be left behind… And in honour of some of the ‘friends of Hutch’ in attendance, my dress was paired with a Pebmarsh fedora and of course, Casanova western boots.

It was so lovely to chat to so many of our favourite people in one place, as we walked around the shopping village and into the lakeside area, and to have a chance to meet several insta-pals in real life 🥰.

After all the excitement and crowds, Al and I were craving some peace, so we took ourselves for an evening drink at in the Cotswolds on our way home, sitting under the wisteria and admiring the gardens, which really was a perfect way to end the day, before settling down for a chilled evening at home in front of ‘Nonnas’ on Netflix, which is such a feel-good film!

Did you make it to Badminton this year?

All the gear…

To be perfectly honest, this is probably as close as I should get to wearing a mechanic’s boiler suit and getting under the Land Rover bonnet. I know my limits! Thankful for my personal field mechanic for that kind of work.

That doesn’t stop me caring for Hutch, though… Recent Defender tweaks have included a new intercooler hose after heating a whooshing noise in high revs and finding a little tear, then a new rear view mirror to replace the tarnished one.

Looking after the little truck all the time, for a lifetime of happy Defender adventuring 💚

Fellow Landy owners - what’s the last little ‘tweak’ you made to yours?

A little bit country...

Ad With Hutch’s latest interior changes, Defender trips have become even more comfortable, and these sunny days have me reaching for the new window buttons to roll them down and feel the breeze as I’m driving down familiar roads with feel-good music on the playlist. Apologies in advance to residents of The Cotswolds for my terrible singing!

I’m really enjoying bringing the Western to West Oxfordshire with my most recent Ariat wardrobe additions. This style is timeless in its own way and I love the simplicity of throwing on a simple denim shirt dress and cowgirl boots, and heading out for a Cotswold adventure in the Land Rover… And of course, there’s a little country influence in my playlist, too.

This is an outfit that’s just going to get better and better over the years - especially the boots 💚.

Let me know what you think!

A handsome truck and a Cotswold catwalk

Ad While many girls who love old Land Rovers reach for their boiler suits, I’m reaching for linen suits for my Defender adventures instead 🤍

When this one from arrived on my doorstep I couldn’t wait for a special occasion, and instead turned a Cotswold road into my springtime catwalk. And honestly, with the wind blowing through the new leaves and the sound of lambs in the fields nearby, it was the perfect place to stop for a while and take the changing seasons in.

Some might say the outfit is a brave choice for a vehicle so notorious for oil appearing in places it shouldn’t, but Hutch (with thanks to my personal Field Mechanic) is always the cleanest of Landys… Although I wouldn’t look too closely underneath him to test my claim!

Really Wild is such a timeless brand, and everything they create is done with meticulous care. This Corine Stripe cotton linen suit glides on, and feels wonderful to wear. They have created edits for the country and the city, and both are so chic and classic, with shapes that transcend trends. I’m in love.

What do you think to my version of a boiler suit?!

Even Cotswold Cowgirls need a trusty steed 🛻.

Ad By now, you might be aware that this Landy lady is partial to a great pair of boots! Well, I’ve wanted a classic pair of cowgirl boots for the longest time, so when the latest collection from arrived on their website, I was drawn to their growing Western range and promptly fell hook, like and sinker for the Casanova X Toe Western Boots! Instantly comfortable and hand crafted by artisans, I feel like these are a pair which will just get better and better over years of Defender driving. A true investment pair.

My Ariat Western rabbit hole took me to their denim skirts, gorgeous shirts, and then further into the men’s collection for Al, and before too long, we were both completely kitted out and feeling very much the Cowboy and Cowgirl of The Cotswolds. I feel like Ariat is so thoughtful in the way their clothing is made, and everything feels like it’s designed to last, with timeless cuts and quality materials.

I’m so looking forward to bringing a touch of Western styling to our adventures in the English countryside - and of course, Hutch is my Land Rover shaped steed, bringing all the horsepower!

Do you love a little Western styling, too?

Defending the countryside.

Ad It’s going to be one of those happy, sunny countryside days which is all about spending time at home doing chores in the garden, getting out for a walk through the fields, and popping into the local village pub in the Defender for a well-earned drink.

For all of this, I’ve chosen the Widdicombe women’s Tattersall shirt. It’s so exceptionally soft, which is exactly what I love - especially when getting ready on chilly mornings, and it’s super comfortable for getting jobs done, yet the pastel pink and olive tones mean that it’s still got that pretty, feminine touch.

I hope you’ve got a sunny day ahead of you, too 💚

Spring adventure ready 🤍

Ad Landy adventures are warming up, and although there are always a few extra layers in the Defender for chilly spring breezes, it’s glorious to be able to button up this dress and leave the chunky knitwear behind for journeys in the sunshine.

I’m amazed that this is the first ever dress the Cotswold Fox team have created. It’s a gorgeous, crisp cotton with hidden buttons and a beautiful matching tie with subtle embroidered branding. So simple, yet can be styled different ways for the whole of spring or summer.

They’ve also brought out a blue version, which is equally classic. I just love finding timeless wardrobe staples.

Now I’m ready for a drive out into The Cotswolds, for a picnic under blue skies!

I’m in tweed and leather Landy heaven.

Ad Stage One of my Lucari Defender interior journey is complete and the transformation is already incredible!

Having selected a tan leather and green check Harris Tweed combination for Hutch’s cabin glow up, the Defender specialists at .solutions got to work hand stitching the cubby box and custom carpets with built-in gaiters.

This weekend, Al had a chance to fit them for me - which went super smoothly- and oh my goodness, although I already love spending time in Hutch, this has just taken it up another gear!

The interior of the cabin was all black, and a little tatty in places (well-loved 😉). There were no carpets - just an old matting system, and the space in between the seats was furnished with a less-than-useful plastic tray.

Now, the Lucari carpets and protective mats make the cabin feel so much cosier, and look a million times smarter, with gleaming new edging strips to finish it off. The custom gaiters are beautiful and tie the carpet in with the main feature - the central cubby box - which along with being stunning, has plenty of storage inside.

I’m in love, and this is only the beginning! Door cards, dash pods and seats to come next…

What do you think?
