There is 1 day left until the RCAF Centennial! ✈️
Did you know that the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP), a cornerstone of aviation history, ended on March 31, 1945? This monumental initiative trained a staggering 131,553 aircrew, shaping the future of aviation.
The BCATP, established during the Second World War, brought together the efforts of Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand to train aircrew for the Allied forces. This collaborative effort was crucial to maintaining air superiority and ultimately securing victory.
As we count down to our Centennial, let's reflect on the extraordinary contributions of those who trained under the BCATP.

Last week the inspiring Kenneth Molson Lecture, "Time Flies - 100 Years of the RCAF," at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum, was met with heartfelt appreciation from attendees. Sharing captivating, and sometimes humorous tales pulled from their own careers, Chief Warrant Officer John Hall - RCAF Command CWO, Lieutenant-General Lise Bourgon, and Captain Edward Soye – a pilot with the Snowbirds, painted a vivid picture of the RCAF's past, present, and future. Sincere thanks to emcee Erin Gregory and the esteemed panelists for their remarkable insights. 🛩️

Did you know that 2024 is the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force? In honour of the occasion, join us for 100 Seconds with LGen Eric Kenny, Commander RCAF, to learn about life in the RCAF and how we’re celebrating the Centennial!
Join us in wishing a happy birthday to great Canadian adventurer, military pilot and astronaut, Joshua Kutryk! 🎂
Josh was raised on a cattle farm in Alberta and went on to spread his wings as a military fighter pilot and CF-18 instructor pilot.
After 7 years of learning the astronaut ropes, honing his skills and zeroing in on his training, Josh will be the next Canadian who will fly to the International Space Station as part of the Starliner-1 mission. Photos: NASA, CSA, ESA/A. Romeo
