Its first release was "A Very Indie Christmas," a 1996 compilation of mostly original yuletide music by artists from the New York/New Jersey area. It received rave reviews in The (N.Y.) Daily News, the Star-Ledger of Newark, The Aquarian Weekly and the Hudson County Current, as well as airplay on terrestrial, satellite and Internet radio. Current artists on the Pop Goes the World roster include Mike Daly & The Planets and Every Damn Day.
