I wanted to make this Christmas unforgettable for my daughter Ashley, so I went all out and hired "Santa" to visit our house. You know, the classic guy in a costume.
He was late, and my husband started getting impatient. Finally, the doorbell rang. I opened it to find a tall man who looked uncannily like the real Santa Claus. No introductions, no awkwardness — he jumped right into character with a booming "Ho Ho Ho! Where's that little girl I have a special gift for?"
Ashley squealed with excitement and ran to him. They started opening her gift together — a robot puppy. My husband pulled me aside, annoyed. He had wanted to surprise her with a *real* puppy, not a toy. While we were quietly arguing, we didn't notice the silence in the living room.
Ashley and "Santa" were gone. Panicking, we rushed around the house and found them just as "Santa" was stepping out of the door with Ashley. I immediately shouted, "Stop! What are you doing?!" and grabbed Ashley's arm.
The man froze, his face shifting from jolly to serious. Dropping the Santa act, he said, "Lisa, it's not what you think. I need to show you something."
The voice sounded eerily familiar, but when he pulled off the fake beard, my stomach dropped. It was a face I had spent years trying to forget.😳👇
