InCOLOR Magazine is an online publication that aims to focus on the lives of students from all different backgrounds. The goal is to help readers gain a broader understanding of the struggles and unique experiences that students of different cultures have. At the same time, InCOLOR Magazine will keep readers up to date with current events by covering recent news, music, fashion, sports, A&E, etc…all while keeping the information relevant to the Twin Cities & surrounding areas.

What is InColor Magazine?

InColor Magazine is an online platform created to highlight narratives of color through creative works be that editorial, creative-writing, video or visual art.

Why is InColor Magazine important or needed? It really comes down to representation and legitimization. What is the implication when stories of color are not equally represented in the mainstream media? Lack of prioritization which has repercussions, then, in the way of opportunity (lack-thereof) for many people.

If stories of color are recognized on a legitimate media platform, it then opens the door for resources, collaboration and recognition from parties that can make a difference, locally or nationally – but the first step is telling the story…getting the story out there.

How does InColor Magazine plan to “bridge the gap”? By telling stories on a professional platform with an influential reach.

It is our mission to find and recognize people and organizations in Minnesota that have a story pertaining to or driven by people of color.

Our editorial board will actively curate submitted works to be published, as well as participate as regular contributors.

Who makes up the InColor Magazine team? Currently the ICM team is managed by myself, Tiffany Johnson (previously Trawick) founder and editor-in-chief as well as Anthony Johnson, my business partner (and husband). We work together to curate stories and develop the business model behind the publication.

We are actively seeking dedicated team-members to serve as writers and photographers/videographers; also an editorial board to maintain the vision and the voice of InColor Magazine.
