Okay, this album is REALLY strong. Astonishing that LL COOL J has made one his best LPs yet, 40+ years into his career. The Q-Tip production is tight and funky, a classic yet thoroughly modern sound; LL sounds both hungry and confident, floating across the beats and firing off vintage verse after vintage verse.

This resets all standards for "late career renaissance", and reaffirms that LL is, to use the term he himself popularized, the GOAT.

I would tell you all about why Eric Orr is an important and vital creator, how his Rappin' Max Robot character starred in the first-ever Hip-Hop comic book (after appearing in the NYC subways alongside Keith Haring's radiant baby), how it's a big deal that Max is now becoming a high-end vinyl figure, and why you should pre-order yours right now...

Except I already did, and you can read it all right at this link! (And pre-order the figure while you're at it.)

Celebrate Hip-Hop 50 with the world's first designer toy by LBO Collective based on the first-ever license of the world's first Hip-Hop Comic Book by Eric Orr - Rappin’ Max Robot!
