Oh no, Katie’s totally gone with the end of this. She’s still crying now, days after recording. Just wait till War of the Gods. We’d better top up the tissues for that one. This one has so much, we get “sealings” i.e. weddings, Egypt, Baltar double treble quadruple crossing, and of course, one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Sci-fi. Poor Boxey, poor Muffit.

We end the pod with a few minutes on the space disco singers from Carillon - who they were, where they come from and the background of the song. To prepare for this, we had to spend an hour watching space disco. Music will never been the same again.

After the barn storming pilot/movie/film/whatever of Saga of a Star World we are straight into the monster two-parter of Lost Planet of the Gods. This one is brilliant, and because it has everything, Katie kindly gives us a quick primer of Ancient Aliens and the Mormon religion so we are armed and ready to spot all the tropes.

Katie also gives us her reaction to the controversial ‘sexy’ scene of the female pilots, all the men get COVID, they’ve sown the head back on Baltar, Adama touches his medallion a bit too often, and there’s a rubbish party to send Apollo off to the apparent utter doom of being married.

Before we crack on, we pay our respects to Larson-verser Gil Gerard who passed away shortly before recording. We may do Buck on the podcast one day, you never know. God help Colin and all that spandex, lip gloss and pen*s-headed robots.

Back to Battlestar, the battle is over, the survivours have been rounded up and we’re on the way to Earth. Only problem is they are running out of fuel. So after some heroics, they happen to find exactly what they wanted - a planet basically made of the very fuel they need. What could wrong? We have dodgy insect aliens, multi-mouthed disco singers, Muffit the Daggit running around, the first of many love triangles for Starbuck and a real cliff hanger. Just what is at the bottom of the elevator?

The last podcast. Part 2 of our wrap up begins with paying tribute to the passing of Clifton Jones, so soon after Prentis Hancock leaving us. Computer Kano was always a fun character, jousting with Victor on intellectual matters, protecting computer like a proud father. We both hope you enjoy your life in the next world.

We also then discuss how two of the stars being in X Files has passed Katie by. Better late than never.

The rest of the pocast is devoted to how we feel about the show, what Katie really though of it as a Space: 1999 virgin, what went right and what went wrong. We discuss our favourite memories and hopes for the future of '99. Finally, after the credits, we will tease the subject of our next podcast series.
