Meta has hired Ke Yang, the Apple executive leading efforts to develop AI-driven web search for Siri, according to Bloomberg.

Yang recently headed Apple’s Answers, Knowledge & Information (AKI) team, which is building features to make Siri more ChatGPT-like by pulling information from the web, a key part of a major Siri revamp planned for March 2026.

His departure is the latest in a string of high-profile exits from Apple’s AI division, following more than a dozen researchers.

For decades, Asian and Asian American faces on screen have been exoticized, sidelined, or erased entirely. But a new report by The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) is making it clear: continuing to ignore these stories isn’t just bad representation — it’s bad business.

According to The Asian American Foundation’s 2025 “Business Case for Asian and Asian American Narratives”, Hollywood’s old excuses — “Asian stories don’t sell,” “Asian actors aren’t bankable” — are no longer true. In fact, the data says the opposite.

Men in love are different. 💔 More than a decade, Over 600 dives. One love that never sank.
In the wake of the devastating 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, Yasuo Takamatsu’s world changed forever. His wife Yuko was swept away in the flood, and her body was never recovered. Driven by love and heartbreak, Yasuo learned to dive at age 56 so he could search underwater for her remains. Over the past 13 years, he has dived well over 600 times, combing the murky sea off Onagawa where she vanished. He first searched on land for years, but eventually turned to the ocean — the place he feels closest to her.

His story has touched many, captured in documentaries like The Diver, highlighting not just loss but persistence. In a short film, Yasuo said, “I feel closest to her when I’m in the ocean. I have no choice but to keep looking.” The phone she left behind bore her final message: “Are you OK? I want to go home.” Today, he still dives weekly, hoping that someday he’ll bring her home.
