Happy Feature Friday! This year’s submissions are officially closed. Meaning the countdown to the release of Bravura 2025 begins! At the end of this semester, we will host our annual gala to commemorate the release and to celebrate our talented authors, artists, and editors. Thank you to everyone who submitted! We hope you all continue to create and share your work!

If you missed the window don’t worry! You can always submit next year for Bravura 2026!

Bravura 2024 has been named a First Class magazine in the
The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) REALM contest!

NCTE awarded Bravura the highest level in the REALM program, recognizing our exceptional standards in content, visual design, editing, and variety of creative works showcased.

It’s a huge honor to be considered one of the top literary magazines from a California secondary school. We hope to continue to do good work! Thank you !

We are excited to announce that Bravura 2024, our 60th Anniversary Edition, received first place for Best Magazine in the Pacific-Western Division of the annual CCHA Literary Magazine Competon. Bravura 2024 was also honored with our first National award, winning third place for Best Magazine in this highly competitive category.

Congratulations to the amazing student editors from ENG 137 whose hard work culminated in this award-winning edition of Bravura. We also wanted to congratulate everyone whose work was published in Bravura 2024. The Best Magazine awards recognize technical excellence in the construction of the journal and the high quality of the creative work included in the publication. Thank you all for contributing to the 60th anniversary edition of Bravura!

Deadline: March 15th How to Submit: Current/ Former Palomar Student Submissions: Please email your submissions to [email protected] In your submission email please include the following information: • Your contact information: full name and preferred email • The title of each of your submission(s). You may include multiple submissions in one email. • Your affiliation with Palomar: EX: Alumni (year/s attended), or current student NOTE: label the individual attached files as Your Name: Title of Work Submission Guidelines by Category: Prose Submissions: We welcome short fiction and creative non-fiction submissions! Your submission should be no more than 5,000 words and be submitted as a word doc OR PDF file. You may submit up to 5 individual prose pieces for consideration. Poetry Submissions: Poetry in all forms and lengths is welcome. We also accept work that is meant to be performed, such as spoken word or song lyrics, etc. Please submit your work as a word doc OR PDF file. You may submit up to 5 individual poems for consideration. Visual Arts Submissions: Photography, paintings, graphic design, illustrations, mixed media, comics etc. Fashion design, architecture, woodworking, metalworking, basically anything creative that you have made/designed are welcome.
