It is always best to learn from the source. Zakaria Malahfji is a Syrian born master of the darbuka and has been playing since he was a child, so this instrument and the music is in his blood. This 2 hour workshop with take you through the main rhythms used in Middle Eastern music specifically those used by dancers. Zak will demonstrate the correct playing techniques used by professional musicians. The aim is to look for players interested in joining an Arabic ensemble and create the masters of the future.
