Showers and possibly severe weather this afternoon!

Showers and thunderstorms activity has started to kick off over interior southeast Georgia as the Gulf breeze pushes inland thanks to the overall southwesterly flow. The overall wind flow should keep any showers or storms moving fast enough to keep flash flood risk more minimal today compared to the last couple of days. But those areas that did see a good amount of rain during the past weekend may still experience some localized flooding, in addition to the typical flood-prone and low-lying areas. Wet downbursts will be possible, especially along the sea breeze merger near the I-95 corridor. Most of showers and storms will begin to exit to the north and offshore during the late evening.
