🎧 MILTON KEYNES GETS FIRST DEDICATED 24/7 DANCE STATION ON DAB AS PURE DANCE RETURNS AFTER NEARLY TWO DECADES 🎧
Iconic 2000s station relaunches today, bringing non-stop dance music to MK’s airwaves
MILTON KEYNES, UK - Pure Dance, the independent station that became a householdname on Sky Digital in the mid-2000s, returns to the airwaves today as Milton Keynes’first dedicated 24/7 dance music station on DAB.
The relaunch also includes a new DABbroadcast in Loughborough and continued global streaming via TuneIn, Radioplayer,and smart speakers.
First launched in 2004, Pure Dance quickly established itself as a leading destinationfor club culture, reaching close to a million monthly listeners and working with majorlabels on artist launches and campaigns.
It was home to names including Stu Allan,Slipmatt, Lisa Lashes, and Matt Darey, before going off-air in 2006.A soft online relaunch late last year saw a strong response from listeners, withthousands tuning in each week and a growing presence on streaming platforms.
Today marks the station’s full return to broadcast radio – and Milton Keynes is the first city toget it.“There’s real energy in MK’s dance scene - from major events at the Bowl to packedfloors at Unit Nine,” said founder Alex Kinch.
“The city has quietly built a seriouselectronic music ecosystem, and it deserves a proper 24/7 platform to reflect that. PureDance is here to plug back into the airwaves and deliver exactly that.”
The new line-up blends returning legends with global names and rising underground talent.
Confirmed shows include Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, R3HAB, Nicky Romero, MK, Defected, and Toolroom Radio, alongside genre-specific programmingfrom Slipmatt, Solarstone, Tube & Berger, Rebūke, Laura van Dam, Anjunadeep, He.She.They, and more.
Flagship shows Pure Anthems and Non-Stop Pure Dance return, alongside the revival of UDJ – the station’s platform for showcasing unsigned DJs(puredance.co.uk/udj).
With DAB coverage for Milton Keynes now live (1 September), Pure Dance is back to do what it always did best: deliver dance music radio built by fans, for fans - serving house,techno, trance, and drum & bass around the clock, on air and online.
