BREAKING: Evansville-based theater chain Showplace Entertainment is in negotiations to purchase the recently closed AMC Centre 8 theater in Marion.

The Showplace Entertainment President confirmed to me that a purchase deal SHOULD be finalized during the week of October 6th, 2025.

Laser-projection and reclining seats are all expected to be installed during the re-construction process.

Showplace Entertainment owns 7 theaters in Indiana, 1 in Kentucky, and 1 in Illinois (Harrisburg).

EXCLUSIVE: A Mounds man was hit by a bullet while laying in bed watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

The bullet flew through his bedroom wall, then through a can of heavy-duty spray starch, before going into his left leg.

Honored to be featured by the SIU Alumni Association! Southern Illinois University Carbondale helped shaped me into who I am today and I’ll be forever grateful for my time there.

Our today is KFVS-TV's Devin Kidd!

After graduating from with a Bachelor's Degree in Radio, Television & Digital Media, Devin started his career as a producer at WOFL FOX 35 in Orlando, FL, before he began working as an assignment manager at WKMG CBS, also in Orlando. He also spent time as an executive producer and assignment manager at WWSB ABC 7 in Sarasota, FL. Devin helped lead the team through major national stories, including the Gabby Petito case and Hurricane Ian.

In 2024, Devin moved back to Southern Illinois to join the team at Heartland News at KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, MO.

2024 was a record year for tourism, not just for Illinois, but Williamson County also saw a record-breaking boost.

Today we're celebrating a remarkable milestone, the retirement of Captain Mike Boyd after thirty years of service to the Marion Fire Department. Captain Boyd started his career here in 1995, but his firefighting career began even earlier, serving the city of Herrin Illinois from 1991 to 1995. Prior to his career in the Fire service, Mike served in the United States Navy for 4 years. Please join us in thanking Captain Boyd for his incredible service, infectious smile, and wonderful attitude. We will never forget the impact you made at the Marion Fire Department.
