I am passionate about providing the latest to keep people safe during dangerous weather situations. I care about you, your family, and your friends knowing critical weather information.
To that end, I have streamed live coverage for every single tornado-warned storm to move through the coverage area since late 2019.
I have hesitated to make a post like this, because I know it would be easy to have a random Tornado Warning in a zone of dozens of counties, be so short-lived, that I am not able to get on in time. More than once, I have had a nightmare about missing a local Tornado Warning, only to wake up to see that things are fine.
I really appreciate my loyal viewers and followers. With my recent investment in an advanced weather graphics system, and having a scheduled broadcast weekday evenings at 5:30PM, I would like to make even more people aware of potential North Florida and South Georgia weather impacts.
Until 2022, as many of you might be able to relate to, very low internet speeds were all that were available in my rural Bradford County location. An upload speed of under 0.5 Mbps resulted in me having to stream in 360p, which caused blurry streams when I would move around in front of the camera to point things out (not as noticeable on small screengrabs, like the 2019 coverage example shown here) or loop the radar.
Simply trying to post on social media while still streaming radar risked significant interruptions, or the stream cutting off completely. As such, many would switch to clearer live coverage video from other sources. I am sure that this, coupled with a habit of late-night live forecast update streams, significantly reduced my reach on Facebook and X/Twitter.
I have not been able to overcome all my live streams over the years with just a small number of viewers. When you see my weather content, if you can like it, comment on it, and share it often, more people will see my posts and streams. Plus, you will see my content more frequently too. Thank you!
