For one hour every Saturday and Wednesday evening, Julia travels the musical world as she explores a theme that touches the human spirit, featuring communal activities, character traits, shared emotions, and myriad aspects of daily life. From ancient to modern, from steel drum bands to didgeridoos, from Americana to Arabesque, Julia and her listeners enjoy and consider how the traditions, customs,

heritage, and myths of our world have been expressed through music. Meticulously researched but presented with minimal commentary or interpretation, Julia allows the folktale theme of the week to unfold itself in the mastery of the musicians and their music, embellished occasionally by a timely quote or proverb. Folktales airs each Saturday evening, and offers an encore edition every Wednesday here in northeast Indiana, southern Michigan, and northwest Ohio, both nights 8-9p (ET) In our broadcast range, you'll find it at 89.1fm, and everywhere else in the world please stream online at our website: www.wboi.org. 1958 ~ Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman
~This classic sci-fi film was directed by Nathan H. Juran. The story revolves around Nancy Archer, played by Allison Hayes, who encounters an alien, and is subsequently exposed to a mysterious substance. This exposure causes her to grow to an enormous size, leading to chaos & destruction as she seeks revenge on those who have wronged her, particularly her unfaithful husband.
~The film explores themes of power, revenge, and the consequences of scientific experimentation. Despite its low-budget production, it has become a cult classic & remains a notable entry in the sci-fi genre.
