Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) commemced a four-day celebration for its 116th Founding Anniversary and 26th Charter Day with a heartfelt Thanksgiving Mass. Held on March 20, 2024, at the University Chapel in Sumacab Campus, the ceremony marked the first program of this momentous event. Reverend Father Armando DC. Caleon led the congregation in a heartfelt homily. He emphasized the importance of faith and keeping God at the center of all things.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed NEUST officials, including University President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, showcasing the universityโs value to faith in celebrating this momentous occasion. Joining Dr. Jugo were Vice President for Academic Affairs Eng. Feliciana P. Jacoba, Vice President for Administration, Business, and Finance Dr. Honorato P. Panahon, and Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Dr. Rachael R. Moralde. Their presence solidified the administrationโs commitment to the universityโs continued growth.
Deans, faculty members, and students from various campuses also filled the chapel, creating a vibrant atmosphere of unity and celebration. Following the spiritual ceremony, NEUST proudly showcased its growth with a solemn blessing and inauguration ceremony for its latest additions.
Reverend Father Armando DC. Caleon presided over the program, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by University President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, Executive Vice President and VP for Administration, Business & Finance, Dr. Honorato P. Panahon, and USG President, Pauline Grace Alfaro.
The ceremony commenced with the blessing of two new university vans in front of the mini convention center. This was followed by a procession led by the reverend to bless various new facilities and infrastructure projects. These included the recently constructed parking area, the new Architecture building, a flat panel display, the newly paved road leading to the Supply and Property Management building, and finally, the university's refreshing swimming pool. With the final blessing, the inauguration of all the new facilities was complete.

Displaying pride, power, and prestige, different NEUST Departments and Campuses paraded with their vehicles starting from NEHS Oval to Sumacab Campus. Testifying its achievements and greatness through the melodious chants and echoing voices of celebration carried by Tricycles dancing through the winds. Some spectators watched the parade and enjoyed the vibes it brought to their hearts. This resonates with the call to welcome everyone and join its 116th Anniversary and 26th Charter Day.

As the celebration begins, the NEUST commends tribute to the university's board exam passers, emphasizing the importance of reflecting on where they came from. Five board exam passers were given the opportunity to speak in front of a large number of university students in the grandstand, where the street dance competition will happen.
Representatives of board passers from various departments and campuses of NEUST delivered a remarkable speech, detailing their experiences in achieving their dreams and what they did to pass the board exam. They left useful advice for future board examination takers to university students. It's amazing how these people began their dream at NEUST and returned to become aspirants of the current dreamers of the university.

After displaying the achievements of various campuses and departments in the motorcade, the street dancers of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology lined up to start the first day of the founding anniversary celebration, exhibiting their colorful attire adding to the liveliness of the atmosphere inside the university. The dancers made noise on the street of NEUST utilizing their eye-catching props and synchronized cheers in front of the Techno Hub Building, Sumacab Campus.
They did not mind the heat and gave a glimpse of their performance showcasing their astounding formation and their lively expressions to keep up with the energy of the audience. The dancers did not hold back in establishing their presence in the competition, exhibiting their determination to advance to victory by harmonizing their powerful voices with their massive movements that matched the upbeat music, showcasing their take on the Mais Festival.
Their bare feet ignored the blistering heat of the ground and stomped it as hard as they could, bouncing unconcerned about the sweat caused by their heavy garments and the scorching heat of the sun.
Each representative gave a brief performance during the procession before moving to the university's oval for the street dancing competition.

The Blazing heat of the day did not stop the opening program of NEUST 116th Anniversary and 26th Charter Day. With the heartwarming and unwavering support of the NEUSTians, the program prevailed in showcasing the pride, burning passion, and excellence of various talents. VPAA Dr. Fely, blasted the program with enthusiastic remarks and also acknowledged the presence of the fresh board passers who tip-toed their way through the spikes of the board exam.

As the first highlight event of the anniversary, representatives of different campuses and courses gather in the oval of the university to showcase their prepared performances. Each of the contingents shows their mastery of street dance with a colourful, vibrant, and energetic performance with impressive props.
The heat of the competition goes along with the scorching heat of the weather, which makes the street dance competition burn with the excellence of the contingents. With their bare feet and thick costumes, the heat of the ground doesn't stop the performers from showing how good each of them is. Each of the contingents brings their own powerful props that make their performance outstanding.
The Gabaldon campus, one of the outstanding performances and the defending champion, retained their championship in this street dance competition 2024 in NUEST's 116th founding anniversary and 26th Charter Day celebration of NEUST, as they showed their dominance through their lively performances along with their various beautifying and enormous props.

The Faculty and Staff Union held a wellness activity last March 20 as a part of the 116th Founding Anniversary and 26th Charter Day celebration at the Farmersโ Training Center, Nieto Hall, NEUST Sumacab Campus.
The enjoyment will be seen in the face of stakeholders, faculty members, and staff who attended a well deserved free various pampering services.
The offered wellness activities are relaxing hand and foot massage, manicures and pedicures, all assisted by the students of Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education and Industrial Technology. Additionally, a massage therapist with disability (PWD) provided body massages. Henna tattoo is also offered in the said activities.

The much anticipated Color Run, an event designed especially for second-year students from various departments, marked the beginning of the festivities on the second day. The institution organized this program with the goal of promoting wellness and physical activity among its students. The Color Run, which took place at the prestigious Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Sumacab Campus, gave students a chance to experience a fun and engaging physical activity while promoting bonding among friends. As students raced across the course, vibrant colors spread across the track, with each step supporting the wellness of the students.
During the race, students were covered in various colored dusts, creating a vibrant scene across the campus. Their excitement and enjoyment were evident throughout the event as they ran alongside friends, exchanging jokes and laughter while also engaging in physical activity and promoting wellness. The Color Run provided not only an opportunity for exercise but also a chance for students to bond and have fun together, contributing to a lively and healthy atmosphere on campus.
The event wrapped up with a thrilling foam party, much to the delight of the students and their friends. Laughter and joy filled the air as everyone jumped and smiled amidst the foam, creating lasting memories of fun and bonding shared with classmates and peers.

One of the highlights of the second day of celebration is the bench yell competition, which was the first bench yell in the history of NEUST's founding anniversary and charter day celebrations. The event took place in the university's grandstand. At the 2024 celebration, nine contingents representing various university campuses and courses competed for the championship. They demonstrated the power of their sound, as well as their colorful props and attire.
The scorching heat of the sun matched the heat of the competition as the contingents performed their prepared yells, while the audience was unaffected by the heat of the oval's ground as they watched each contingent's incredible yell performance.
The College of Engineering made history by becoming the first champion in the university's first bench yell, demonstrating their dominance through their powerful and loud yell as well as their impressive props and synchronized steps, which left the audience in awe of how beautiful it was. Their remarkable "dos sais dos sais na tayo," which means 2 and 6 and refers to the count of the NEUST's Charter Day celebration.

NEUST Sumacab Campus came alive with culture on March 21st as a vibrant showcase filled the closed gymnasium, welcoming a diverse range of performing groups. This event wasn't just a performance; it was a testament to NEUST's unwavering dedication to preserving and enriching Filipino culture. From graceful dance routines to captivating storytelling, and melodious singing to powerful acting, the event was a testament to the university's dedication to fostering artistic expression.
Present in the event were students, faculty, staff, and university officials, including the University President, Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Feliciana P. Jacoba.
The NUEST Choral begins the program with a prayer, which is followed by the Philippine National Anthem.
Dr. Rhodora Jugo, then gives the opening remarks, emphazising in her speech the value of the program in promoting unity within the university and enhancing studentsโ understanding of our culture.โMagdiwang tayo ng ating pagka-pilipino, mabuhay ang NEUST, mabuhay ang kulturang pagtatanghal, patnubayan tayong lahat ng ating Panginoong Maykapal," she said as she concluded her remarks.
The program displayed various performances that showcased the richness and diversity of Filipino culture. NEUST's Choral, Brass Band, Rondalla, and Live Band showcased their phenomenal musical talent. NEUST's Danza Folklorica and the Amazing Theater Arts and Film Production (Amathea) captivated the audience with their impressive dancing and acting skills.

The Mass Demo, one of the momentous events of the celebration, displayed bodily movements under precise control, burning passion resonated through the choreography, and sweating glands did not mind the freshmen participants quitting. Master of Ceremonies, Darwin Andres led the program with enthusiasm, also praying for God's guidance and protection. Following, the Brass Band energized the audience with their harmonious musical performance.
Opening remarks, President Rhodora R. Jugo expressed love and vibes to the NEUST community for their constant commitment and untiring support all through the years. IPE Instructors led the Mass Demo like a flock of sheep with their expertise and also served the audience with their grooves and talents through an intermission number.
The Mass Demo participants were composed of first-year students from different departments in NEUST General Tinio and Sumacab Campuses. Teal and Pink colors blanketed the entire Oval, divided into 2 groups presenting their craft and artistry after the sacrifices of bathing under the sun for weeks.
The Mass Demo started at exactly 3:30 PM, with vibrant colors splashed in the field with orchestrated movements, timing, and proper ex*****on, lively music made the audience jaw-dropped with amazement. Performances lasted for 10 minutes each, and participants displayed all their efforts and skills.
MC Andres provided a cheerful and masterful craft to engage with the audience, instructing the concerns and making sure everything was organized. The weather played tic-tac-toe changed over time challenging the participants' resilience, still, they performed with persistence and passion.
Director Jennifer L. Amaranto expressed her closing remarks, congratulating the participants' exceptional performances, and also recognized the NEUST's notable achievements. The NEUST community gathered together capturing the moments, celebrating with unity and harmony.
The Mass Demo is only one of the numerous talents of the NEUST community, but it is already a masterpiece, poetry in motion, and prose of history to tell. NEUST continues to reach greater heights as its 116th Founding Anniversary and 26th Charter Day commemorates the humble beginnings. Beyond the borders of the Philippine Islands, NEUST will go internationally competitive and competent achievers of excellence.

Fifteen bands battled for a final spot in the rigorous elimination round held on March 1, 2024. Each band showcased their talent by performing both a cover song and an original composition that encapsulated the essence of NEUST.
The Mass Hysteria, succeeding last year's champion Polaris and walking away with the coveted PHP 25,000 cash prize, clinched the title of this year's Battle of the Bands. Praised by both judges and peers alike, the band impressed the crowd with their dynamic stage presence and exceptional instrumental skills. Their rendition of Freddie Aguilar's "Anak" in a rock style showcased the lead singer's powerful vocals, leaving a lasting impact on the audience. Additionally, their original composition, "Extraordinaryo," proved to be a showstopper, captivating the hearts of everyone present. The judges and viewers were equally impressed by The Mass Hysteria's versatility and creativity, cementing their well-deserved victory in the competition and solidifying their status as rising stars in the music scene.

A surge of excitement raced through the crowd as Coldplay's famous song of "A Sky Full of Stars" filled the air. All of a sudden, a captivating fireworks display painted different patterns against the night sky, causing the sky to burst into a kaleidoscope of hues. Blasts of brilliance danced in perfect harmony with the music for four captivating minutes, evoking awe and astonishment in everyone.
Holding hand in handโthe couples' hearts beat in time with the night's rhythm. Friend groups rejoiced in the happy occasion, their laughter blending with the lively music. Amid the crowd, people were engrossed in the captivating display, their senses overwhelmed by the magnificence that was taking place above them.
For those fleeting moments, time seemed to stand still as NEUSTians enjoyed the glow of the sparkling skies. It was a moment of collective transcendence, where worries melted away, and the beauty of the universe became the focal point of existence. Este Sumacab. NEUST's Community Outreach Programโled by the University Infirmaryโconducted a humanitarian endeavor, providing free medical care under the name "Handog Medikal ng Pamantasan Para sa Mamamayan," amid the celebration of its Charter Week. This project demonstrates NEUST's steadfast commitment to social responsibility and overall welfare.
Under the direction of Dr. Margarita Belinda Gamillaโthe University Physician, the program aims to meet the urgent medical needs of the residents. A wide range of free medical services were offered, including cervical cancer screenings, dental exams, blood pressure monitoring, and basic consultations. This immense project attracted a lot of interest from students, residents of Sumacab Este, staff members of the university, and others who are eager to avail themselves of these dental and medical services.
The Community Outreach and Feeding Program's authorities, faculty, and staff came together to celebrate NEUST's 116th anniversary of founding, 26th Charter Day, and International Women's Month. On the third day of the event, March 22, the key officials, faculty, and staff from various departments and campuses of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology united for a socialization event at the University Closed Gym.
All the attendees of the event showed off their elegance through their free-spirited aesthetics, wearing their best attire, including stylish hairdresses, to complement the bohemian theme of socialization.
The people who make up the university had the opportunity to freely interact and have fun while getting to know one another at the event. Faculty members and staff from different departments and campuses also presented an incredible dance performance.
The Vice President of Public Affairs, Feliciana P. Jacoba, is present wearing her elegant outfit. Also, the President of the University, Rhodora R. Jugo, did not miss the chance to introduce herself and establish a great relationship with her subordinates. The program starts with a fun dance performance of the former and this year's retirees. Then proceeded in awarding the retiring individuals who shaped and served as the backbone of NEUST for many years. This includes the two current Vice Presidents; Dr. Honorato P. Panahon, Executive Vice President and Vice President for Administration, Business, and Finance; Dr. Rachael R. Moralde, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training; and other faculty and staff. A plaque as a symbol of recognition of their unwavering commitment and dedication to the institution and a token of appreciation was given to all the awardees.
The retirees contributed and dedicated many years of their lives to shaping NEUST and bringing it to where it is now. Actually, all of them have served NEUST for more than 20-30 years.
On behalf of the retirees, Dr. Honorato P. Panahon delivered a heartwarming and humorous speech. He said โ Dalawa yung umaalis ng pamantasan, yung isa gumraduate, nagtapos ng pag-aaral, yung isa naman ay nagtapos ng pagtatrabaho. Pero iniisip ko mukhang magkaiba kung paano ilalarawan ang dalawang umalis na โyonโฆ Yung mga gumraduate, sila po ay punong puno ng kaalaman, punong puno ng kasanayan, punong puno ng sigla, at punong puno ng pag asaโฆ Ito namang isang klase ng lilisan, mga retirees, punong puno ng maintenance, punong puno ng mga nararamdaman at paminsan minsan ay dinadalaw ng kainipan. Yun ang pagkakaiba.โ
