Indo Canadian Hindu Arrested For Killing A Khalistan Supporter In Ontario
Ontario: November 13, 2024:
The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged an Indo Canadian Rajinder Kumar and his wife Sheetal Verma for stabbing to death a Khalistan supporter Rabinder Singh Malhi.
According to OPP:
"Officers were called to a residence on Deer Ridge Trail shortly before 10:00 p.m. on November 9, 2024, where one person was located injured and later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Rabinder MALHI, 52 years old of Brampton.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, members of the Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit charged Rajinder KUMAR, 47 years old of Caledon, with second degree murder, section 235(1) of the Criminal Code (CC).
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on November 18, 2024.Additionally, Sheetal VERMA, 35 years old of Caledon, was charged with obstruct justice, section 139(2) CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on December 12, 2024".
Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) condemns the politically motivated, hate-driven attack which killed Malhi, a prominent supporter of Khalistan, following the 3 November inflammatory calls for violence given by Hindu Sabha Temple priest Rajinder Parsad.
According to community sources, the Indo Canadian accused Kumar and the Khalistan supporter Malhi were previously acquainted. After the 3 November incendiary statements by the Hindu Temple priest, tensions intensified leading to heated exchanges within a WhatsApp group. The rising tension culminated in Kumar luring Malhi to his home and fatally stabbing him in a premeditated attack on 9 November leaving the Khalistan supporter Malhi dead.
โThis murder of pro-Khalistan activist Rabinder Singh Malhi by Hindutva follower Rajinder Kumar is directly driven by calls for violence made by the Hindu Sabha Temple priest and exemplifies how the menace of Modi's violent Hindutva ideology has contaminated the Hindu community of Canada, posing a direct threat to the lives of pro-Khalistan Canadians,โ stated Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, General Counsel for Sikhs For Justice.
โThe authorities must also arrest and charge Rajinder Parsad, the priest of Hindu Sabha Temple who issued the call for violence and publicly confessed that on November 3. Hindus initiated the attack on a peaceful Khalistan demonstration against the presence of Indian consulate officials," added Pannun.
SFJ stands firm in condemning political violence and calls for the justice system to hold accountable anyone responsible for promoting the use of violence to advocate or suppress a political opinion. Unlike Modi's India, political violence, fear mongering and hate against any religion or political opinion has no place in Canadian society.
