New headstone for Alex Raisbeck.

It is with a great deal of pride that we can announce that a new headstone for our great 1901 and 1906 title-winning captain Alex Raisbeck is now in place. After initially finding the original weather beaten headstone, with the help of The Friends of Anfield Cemetery, our search for family members began. Thanks to Alex's grandson Doug Raisbeck and the Raisbeck family, this new stone befits an Anfield icon.

Well worth a read.

Well worth a read.

It was with sadness that we learned of the passing of former player Billy Ritchie.

Ritchie joined Thistle from Rangers in 1968 and made his debut in a League Cup tie against Morton in August of that year.

In total Billy kept goal for Thistle on 77 occasions.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.

The plan for a quarterly magazine hasn't been ditched but personal circumstances in the last year have considerably delayed things.

Meantime I have created a Partick Thistle Historian Blog where I intend to post articles from time to time.

The first one has now been posted. I'm working on removing my picture from it! :-)

This image is a Champion Trade Card, presumably part of a set of all Scottish clubs, from 1938.

It's nothing startling except for our colours being listed as Crimson and Primrose.

A chant of 'Crimson and Primrose Army' next season anyone?
