Tropical Depression 3 has formed and the 5pm forecast track is out from the NHC.
Current winds are 35 mph and expected to slightly strengthen to a minimal tropical storm making landfall Sunday along the coast of the lowcountry. This will be very minimal in terms of impacts, this system won’t have much time to gather strength or organize. The main threat will be heavy rain and rip currents. Rainfall amounts look to be 1-3 inches of rain, with coastal impacts such as rip currents. We could see some gusty winds but they look to be weaker and mainly over and out in the ocean. Tropical storm watches has been issued for the coastal areas along the lowcountry however that does not change the expected impacts, more updates to come.
