*ACTION AGAINST ILLEGAL MINING: PULWAMA POLICE SEIZES TWO VEHICLES, TWO FIRs REGISTERED*

Sept. 18`````Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Pulwama Police took action against vehicles found involved in the illegal transportation of sand.

During the latest enforcement action, two vehicles loaded with illegally extracted sand were seized. In this connection, FIR Nos. 88/2026 and 89/2026 were registered under relevant provisions of law at Police Station Kakapora, and investigation in both cases has been taken up.

Pulwama Police remains committed to curbing illegal mining, protecting public resources and taking strict legal action against violators.

*PULWAMA POLICE ARRESTS 4 DRUG PEDDLERS IN TWO SEPARATE OPERATIONS ; CONTRABAND SUBSTANCE RECOVERED ; FIRs REGISTERED*

Sept. 17``````Continuing its sustained crackdown on drug trafficking, Pulwama Police conducted two separate operations, resulting in the arrest of four drug peddlers and recovery of 431.5 grams of charas Powder and charas-like substances.

In the first operation, during naka checking at Old Bus Stand, Pulwama, the naka party tactfully apprehended three pedestrians coming from Chatapora towards Old Bus Stand while carrying polythene packets. During their search, 286 grams of charas powder and 101.5 grams of charas-like substance, totaling 387.5 grams, were recovered from their possession. The accused were identified as Abrar Ahmad Yatoo S/o Gh Nabi Yatoo R/o Sunchakoo Pulwama, Owais Ahmad Baba S/o Feroz Ahmad Baba R/o Gulshanabad Rajpora, and Mudasir Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Nabi Dar R/o Gulshanabad Rajpora. In this connection, FIR No. 187/2026 under Sections 8/20 & 29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and all three accused have been arrested.

In the second operation, during Naka checking, Police Post Newa apprehended Arshid Ahmad Ganaie S/o Bashir Ahmad Ganaie R/o Chandgam, Pulwama, who was driving a Tata Ace Gold Load Carrier bearing registration No. JK13K-3132. During his search, 22 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. The vehicle was also seized as per legal procedure. Accordingly, FIR No. 189/2026 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigation has been taken up.

The recovered contraband in both cases has been seized as per prescribed legal procedure.

Pulwama Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance approach against drug trafficking and will continue sustained action against those involved in the illegal narcotics trade.

J&K Police in Shopian Arrested Drug Peddler 2.472 Kgs Crushed Cannabis-Like Substance Recovered

SHOPIAN, September 17: Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the menace of drug abuse, Shopian Police has arrested drug peddler and recovered crushed Cannabis like substance from his possession.

During routine naka checking at Audoora Rampathri, a police party from Police Post Keegam noticed a person moving under suspicious circumstances and tactfully apprehended him along with nylon bag. During search, 2.472 Kgs crushed Cannabis-like substance were recovered. The accused has been identified as Ab Ahad Mochi son of Gh Mohd Mochi resident of Audoora Rampthri. Accordingly, FIR No. 198/2026 under the relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and establish the forward and backward linkages.

Shopian Police remains firmly committed to its mission of creating a drug-free society and appeals to the general public to extend their cooperation by sharing any information related to drug peddling or substance abuse in their localities. Citizens can report such activities to the nearest police station. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
