7:35-THURSDAY EVENING ADVISORY FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

There is a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms later this evening. They are possible north of a line from Woodward to Enid to Stillwater. IF storms occur, Golf ball size hail and wind gusts to 60 mph or so may be possible.

In this radar graphic, you can see storms up in southwestern Kansas. If they hold together, these may be the culprits later tonight. We’ll wait and see.

1-WE ARE IN A MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER LATER TONIGHT. THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER TO OUR SOUTH. THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 10 PM TONIGHT TO OUR SOUTH. THE NORTHERN BORDER OF THAT WATCH IS OUR SOUTHERN GARFIELD COUNY LINE. STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO FORM OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.

MAIN THREATS TO OUR SOUTH ARE LARGE HAIL, WINDS TO 80 MPH AND AN ISOLATED TORNADO OR TWO IF SUPERCELL STRUCTURES CAN STAY DISCREET. SEE TIMING ON ATTACHED GRAPHIC. IF YOU PLAN ON TRAVELING TONIGHT SOUTH OR EAST, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER FORECAST AS DANGEROUS CONDITIONS WILL EXIST.
