RACE REBORT:
PEL Limited @ Nurburgring GP
Back at it for round 2 of the PEL Limited series at Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit. Strong underlying race pace went to waste as executing single lap pace in qualifying cost me multiple rows on the grid and a P24 starting position. In the melee some early rear end damage kept me behind some traffic until I could get it fixed at the first stop. With damage fixed I got my elbows out and pushed forward. Unfortunately, with no safety car periods all race long, the recovery drive stalled out around the back end of the top 20. P18 at the line but some potential spots to gain once penalties get applied.
Overall, happy with how I drove but it’s clear I need to sharpen my qualifying efforts.

RACE REBORT: PEL Limited at Barcelona
PEL is back and the opening round didn’t disappoint. With limited seat time due to work commitments, my expectations were well in check and I was focused on staying out of trouble.
I qualified P15 and made a clean start to run in the pack in the early stages. I held track position through the first two rounds of stops, picking the tyre strategy correctly gained some places. I battled hard in the late stages after the final safety car to cross the line in P12, which turned into P9 after post race penalties were applied.
Super happy to come away with a top 10 to start the season!

RACE REBORT: PEL Limited - Spa
Another great night of racing in the Premiere Endurance League Limited series. This time the 2hr solo enduro was at the popular Spa Francorchamps Circuit in (mostly) dry conditions. I qualified a decent P16, which quickly became P5 after somehow navigating unscathed through the sizeable lap 1 pile up. I ran near the front, as high as P3 for the opening stint, which was quite satisfying. Taking tyres at my first stop lost me some track position I was hoping would come back to me at the second stops. Unfortunately, I jumped the gun releasing the pit limiter at the second stop and had to serve a 15s stop and hold penalty. I fought back from P28 late on after the final safety car (again avoiding damage navigating a pile up) to grab a P10 finish,
Really happy with the result despite a top 5 going begging. Will be signing up to race this series again next season for sure!

RACE REBORT: PEL GT3 Limited
Great to get back into some league racing with the Premiere Endurance League at Le Mans. Mixed conditions were forecast and I qualified a decent P14 on the mostly dry track. I got a great start, avoiding the drama, to run deep into the top 10 for the first half of the 2 hour race. A mistake mid race put me back in the pack but I soldiered on. With 20 mins remaining the heavens opened. My teammates and I held onto the slicks as long as we could, then pitted for wet tyres. We got the timing right and jumped up the race order as the laps ran down and the puddles deepened. A solid P16 finish was my reward for a good nights work.
Really enjoyed this race and felt happy with how I’d gone in my first wet race.

RACE REBORT: Indy NXT Series
0900GMT Split 1
Great to get back in an open wheeler for the first round of the iRacing Indy NXT series at Sebring. I made a few small mistakes on both my qualifying laps but still managed to line up in P13.
The race was a good one. Key to that was avoiding the first lap multi car pile up unscathed. I ran most of the race in a solid P7-P8. A silly mistake on the second last lap ended in a half spin and cost two positions. Even so, a solid P10 finish was a good result.

Rig rebuild (almost) done ✅
It’s been a big couple of weeks giving the sim rig build a refresh. Apartment living means being efficient with storage, so I’ve incorporated bike storage into the sim rig. I took it all the way down to the bare bones and adjusted a lot of the ergonomics and details. The build has not been without challenges but it’s very rewarding to have it back up and running again.
The new GSI Hyper P1 is the crowning jewel of the upgrades and is spectacular!

RACE REBORT: Roar 2026
Split 5 (2200GMT)
It’s been quite a while between drinks but it was great to be back racing for the iRacing Roar. After a long time off I was skeptical of how much I’d be able to achieve, so set out to use this 2h 24min solo endurance race as a way to get some much needed seat time.
Landing in a split with a solid SOF (was car #58 of 60) I surprised myself by qualifying the Hyundai Elantra N 6th in the TCR class.
After getting boxed out of the inside line at the start I settled into P8 through the early stages before steadily working my way up through the first 90mins. A solid, patient run in the back end of the race netted P4. Super happy with the result and thoroughly enjoyed the race!
