Hi all, a new interview has dropped on the Chinese History Podcast! In this companion episode to my interview with Professor Scott Pearce, I interview Professor Andrew Chittick on the Southern Dynasties and their place in Chinese history.

Unfortunately, this will also be the last episode in a while, as I will soon be moving to Hong Kong. The podcast will return once I've settled in!

Also, I am currently in Taiwan doing dissertation research and will be here for six months. I will be devoting most of my time on my dissertation research and writing, so I won't have spare time to podcast. As such, the podcast will be on a brief hiatus until I return to the US in the fall. I hope to resume production then and have an episode out by the end of October. Looks like my plan for monthly releases this season didn't work out well...😅

Thanks for understanding!

One year ago today, we officially launched the Chinese History Podcast. In the months since, we've interviewed a dozen different scholars, posted 15 episodes, and logged close to 8,500 downloads. As Season 1 of the Chinese History Podcast ends, I would like to thank all the scholars who took time out of their busy schedules to sit down and talk about Chinese history with us and to all of our listeners and supporters.

As Season 2 begins, we will change our format to monthly releases (this is actually what we had already been doing anyways), with new episodes releasing at the end of each month. That means the next episode will release sometime in late November (it's going to be a very interesting one so please be sure to check it out!).

Finally, if you've enjoyed our podcast, please consider a small donation to help keep it running. Currently I pay for all the expenses (website, hosting platform, editing softwares, etc.) out of pocket. I don't ever intend to run ads or take sponsorships, so your support will go a long way. Thank you!
