We are asking for continued patience as we continue to search for Brown County inmate Jerry Cooper.

We believe we have him contained in a large wooded area in between Tuckahoe Road and Lee’s Creek Road.

Deputies and law enforcement have been out for close to 75 hours around the clock and away from their families working to apprehend him.

At this time we believe Jerry Cooper presents a major threat to law enforcement and is armed with a rifle. These woods are extremely dense and difficult to navigate.

All available resources at the state and federal level have been asked for assistance.

We will not cease until he is found.

Continued updates will be provided by KSP Post 8.

Please pray for our safety and his apprehension.

Authorities are conducting a search for an individual who left custody from Brown, County Ohio yesterday. While there is no immediate threat to the general public, residents in the area are advised to:. Remain aware of your surroundings. Avoid unfamiliar individuals or suspicious activity. Keep doors and windows secured- do not answer your door Report anything unusual to Mason County Sheriff’s Office. This is a precautionary notice to keep our community informed. Supposebly crossed the river on a paddle boat,dover area.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office said Jerry Lee Cooper and Roy Gene Butler escaped from the jail between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Monday night.

Cooper was in jail on charges of attempted murder, felonious assault and having weapons under disability. Butler had been charged with trafficking in drugs and having weapons under disability.
