Well there is no easy way to say this but today is our last day on air. After 12 years of working on this project with great people, great artists, and the amazing community known as the RGV; today we made the hard decision to close shop. Tomorrow our stream will stop, and our website will come down. Our podcast will continue to be available on all platforms. New episodes to be published soon.
We could sit here and talk about how much it hurts to do this (and it does fu***ng hurt) but instead we wanted to take the time to thank you for everything. This idea/concept has changed our lives in immeasurable ways. Talking this morning we came the conclusion that if we helped or inspired even one person out there with this idea, then I think we can call it a success.
The station was always about showcasing the talent the RGV had to offer. Talent we knew existed but needed to be exposed to the community in a different way. We hope we have at least accomplished some of that while we were around. Because F**K THERE IS SOME AMAZING TALENT IN THE RGV.
More importantly we hope, and honestly know, that the RGV will continue to innovate and showcase its talents in ways we can’t even imagine today. The world is getting smaller, and there is no reason that the amazing talent from the RGV shouldn’t be on the grand stage.
To the artist, from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU. Thank you for entrusting us with your hard work, sweat and tears. Keep creating and publishing.
To all the hosts and on-air talent, thank you for putting up with our s**t lol. j/k We still talk to almost all of you and we will keep it that way. Thank you for believing in this crazy idea as much as us.
To all the fans, thanks for the support. It still amazes us that the community took this idea and embraced it as their own. Keep supporting local art because they need it now more than ever.
Lastly, I (Seve) must take the time to thank my brother Fredward for everything he has done. Never once since I told you this idea did you doubt it or cast it aside. We went headfirst into this crazy idea not knowing where we would end up. Couldn’t ask anything more from you. Thank you, Bro and Love You.
What happens next? Who knows? I do know that there are younger, smarter, and more capable people who have already carved out their position in promoting local RGV art. As always, we are here to support you in any way we can. Ask us whatever questions you want; I’d be happy to share how we took this from an idea to an actual internet radio station.
Guess there is only one thing left to say….
Thank you again and goodbye. You’ve been listening to RGV Titan Radio, We Are The 956.
