The following quotes in this post are found in an article about Community of Christ Pastor Brittany Mangelson, from The Salt Lake Tribune’s Tamarra Kemsley:
“Mangelson is receiving part-time compensation due to this particular role’s demanding nature.
“‘Given how much we’ve grown,’ the new pastor said, ‘it really is a full-time job.’”
Glassdoor, Salary and PayScale say that CofC pastors/ministers are paid. We also know this to be true having been integrated into CofC and even a member of it.
It would be more surprising if Mangelson wasn’t paid.

We applaud Community of Christ’s move in replacing Stephen Veazey, who recently took an unfortunate health turn, with Stassi Cramm. She will be the first woman prophet-president in CofC’s history, which goes back to 1860. However, it would be not even miles, but a marathon better if the church stopped actively going after its polyamorist members.

I was baptized into CofC and am not polyamorist.

Mando and folks excommunicated by the Latter-day Saint church alike were rejected by the cults of which they were members -- for silly reasons.

Given the plot of The Mandalorian season 3 premiere, it seems possible that a main story arc of the season will be a deeply personal journey for Din Djarin.

Seven-plus years out of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — and thus seven-plus years since believing he can morally drink coffee and alcohol and trying each — this ex-Mormon still hasn’t found a satisfactory drink.

The prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his two counselors, all regarded as "prophets, seers, and revelators," knew the specifics of the church’s "help line" that allowed s*x abuse to keep happening, the Associated Press' Michael Rezendes reported.

The Associated Press got almost 12,000 pages of sealed records from a child s*x abuse lawsuit against The Church of Jesus Christ of…

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints claims to believe Jesus Christ’s words that “Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea,” according to the King James Verson of Matthew 18:6. Thus, given what sealed records of a child s*x abuse lawsuit against the church say, we don’t see how the church can claim that it deserves children.

Jesus Christ said, “by their fruits ye shall know them," according to the Gospel of Matthew and 3 Nephi. The Latter-day Saint church’s fruits show that there is no way that Christ could be the head of it.
Or any part of it at all.
As one example: despite Christ saying that people must help the poor or God will cut them off (see Matthew 25), the church only scratches doing it, especially given how astoundingly, massively rich it is. The best evidence I could readily find of the church giving to charity is from the church public affairs department, which touts that it provided just over $2.5 billion worth of assistance in 36 years, through a year ago. That means that in three dozen years, the church has given away just a fortieth of the value of just its $100 billion tax-exempt investment fund. And that astounding degree of resource was stockpiled away but supposed to be for charitable efforts, according to a complaint to the Internal Revenue Service from Latter-day Saint David Nielsen, who worked for the church’s investment division where the fund is found.

Elder Neil L. Andersen, an apostle for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and supposedly representing God Saturday, tried to…

"Under the Banner of Heaven" will hopefully bring much more understanding of the significance of having a Latter-day Saint faith crisis.

I am filled with happiness at the potential that Under the Banner of Heaven has to help anyone who has had an LDS faith crisis.

The Standard-Examiner picked up a letter to the editor that points out that Latter-day Saint scripture says “the covenant people of the Lord (LDS) … were scattered upon all the face of the earth” (1 Nephi 14:14).

It boggles my mind how Latter-day Saints feel like they should live in Utah. For instance, LDS will move to Utah even though LDS are not commanded to relocate to the Beehive State like they used to be. (From my LDS mission, I recall LDS moving from New Jersey to Utah.) The Book of Mormon […]

Should Latter-day Saint movement churches accept that Joseph Smith, Jr. isn’t part of their history?
There wasn’t any succession from Smith, Jr. as the prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (with a capital "d" and no dash at the time), called before that the Church of Christ and other names. He died and didn’t pass on the position of prophet to anyone else. Many Latter-day Saint movement churches -- including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Brighamite), The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Strangite) and The Church of Jesus Christ (Bickertonite) -- stake claims for why they have a true succession, but they all are highly debatable. (Which shouldn't be a surprise -- we're not dealing with a hard science or math, for instance.)
Smith, Jr. established a church that died when he died.
Thus, Joseph Smith, Jr. shouldn’t be part of the equation for any Latter-day Saint movement church.
