Why do Australians wave at each other whilst driving? 🤨

While driving on our lap of Australia, we noticed people waving at us… we didn’t think much of it at first, until it kept happening! 👋

The further we drove into the Outback, the more people would wave at us. We even noticed that everyone has a different wave… so we chose our own! 😅

The Nullarbor, SA 🌅

Crossing into South Australia was where the Nullarbor really showed off: endless horizons, the towering Bunda Cliffs, the striking contrasts of Lake Macdonnell, and the kind of silence that makes you feel tiny in the best way! 🐜

We stopped at the official lookouts along the cliffs (camping’s banned now for good reason), drove the famous treeless plain, and watched the landscape shift from bare limestone to wild coastal edges.

The flies unfortunately followed us across the border too 🙄🪰

Nullarbor Roadhouse, SA 🐪

The ultimate pit stop on one of Australia’s most iconic drives. Nullarbor Roadhouse isn’t just fuel and food, it’s a slice of history. This historic roadhouse has become a rite of passage for anyone taking on the Nullarbor! 🚘

It’s also home to the iconic “Old Nullarbor Roadhouse”… it’s basically a tin shed that shows just how tough this crossing used to be!

It’s safe to say we’re grateful for today’s version 😅
