Dangote Refinery
The Dangote Refinery in Lekki, Nigeria is the world's largest single-train refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. It's owned by Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, and is part of the Dangote Group. The refinery opened in May 2023 after several years of delays and cost over $19 billion to build.
The refinery is designed to process Nigerian crude, but can also process other African crudes, as well as Middle Eastern Arab Light and US Light Tight crudes. It's expected to produce 10.4 million metric tons of gasoline, 4.6 million tons of diesel, and 4 million tons of aviation fuel annually. The refinery also has a 1,100 kilometer pipeline infrastructure that can handle 3 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day, and a 435MW power plant
