Happy heavenly birthday to Elizabeth Cotten, American blues and folk musician, born January 5th 1893 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, passed away June 29th 1987 in New York, New York. Happy heavenly birthday to the late Rahul Dev Burman, born June 27th, 1939 in Kolkata, India, passed away January 4th, 1997 in Mumbai, India. He was one of the greatest musical directors of Hindi cinema, and he is credited with composing the musical scores for 331 films.

Happy 92 years to Argentine piano player and composer Boris Claudio “Lalo” Schifrin, born June 21st 1932 in Beurnos Aires Argentina. A prolific composer known for his many television and films scores

Schifrin's best known compositions include the themes from Mission: Impossible and Mannix, as well as the scores to Cool Hand Luke (1967), Bullitt (1968), THX 1138 (1971), Enter the Dragon (1973), The Four Musketeers (1974), Voyage of the Damned (1976), The Eagle Has Landed (1976), The Amityville Horror (1979), and the Rush Hour trilogy (1998–2007). Schifrin is also noted for his collaborations with Clint Eastwood from the late 1960s to the 1980s, particularly the Dirty Harry series of films. He composed the Paramount Pictures fanfare used from 1976 to 2004.

Remembering Jamil Nasser, born George Joyner and sometimes credited as Jamil Sulieman, born June 21st 1932, passed on February 13, 2010. Jamil was an upright bass player who performed with the Ahmad Jamal trio throughout the 1960s and early 70s. He also played the electric bass and the tuba. He performed with many other well known Jazz musicians throughout his career, including Sonny Rollins, Phineas Newborn, Al Haig, Gene Hammond and others.
