Insecurity: Security Expert Udensi Urges South East Governors To Emulate South West Counterparts.

A renowned Interpol Systems Consultant, Sir Chikwe Udensi, has called on South East governors to take a cue from their South West counterparts in managing regional security.

He made this statement during a live program, "The PLATFORM" on FLO FM in Umuahia, Abia State.

The program today focused on the recent killing of soldiers in Aba by unknown gunmen, which has reignited discussions on security management in the South East region.

Sir Udensi emphasized the need for effective collaboration between state and non-state actors to achieve lasting peace in the area.

LABOUR UNION SHUT DOWN NATIONAL GRID

The Transmission Company of Nigeria says the Labour union has shut down the national grid, resulting in a blackout as a nationwide strike begins.

TCN in a statement states that the national grid shutdown occurred at about 2.19 am Monday, 3rd June 2024.

The shutdown started from the Benin transmission operator to other substations in Ganmo, Benin, Ayede, Olorunsogo, Akangba and Osogbo.

TCN also says power generating units from different generating stations were forced to shut down some units of their generating plants.

At about 3.23 am Monday, however, TCN says it has commenced grid recovery, using the Shiroro Substation to attempt to feed the transmission lines supplying bulk electricity to the Katampe Transmission Substation.

TCN assures that it will sustain efforts in recovering and stabilizing the grid to ensure the restoration of normal bulk transmission of electricity to distribution load centres nationwide.

The Policing plan and model on Practical Intelligence, Technology-driven, and Tactical Operations already placed by the Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has paid off, following the arrest on 17/5/2024 of a notorious and most wanted Cultist and Armed robber in Uruagu village, Oba, Idemili South LGA.

The suspect, Anichede Akachukwu ‘M’ 18 years A.K.A Star B is a Confessed leader of Vikings Secret Cult Confraternity and Armed Gang terrorizing Ogbaru LGA and Asaba in Delta State. His arrest is following a tip-off of intelligence gathered as he was receiving treatment in their den from a bullet wound sustained in their encounter with Police Operatives in Asaba. The suspects have provided Police with information on their mode of Operations and names of other gang members which is already aiding the ongoing investigation.

Also, Police on 20/05/2024 in Okija, Ihiala recovered a white Porsche Cayenne Jeep with Reg Nos: AGL 60 HJ Lagos suspected to Operational vehicle of the successions operating in Ihiala. During a search of the vehicle, the operatives found a bag and discovered Twenty-Seven pieces of live 7.62m Ammunition, Three live cartridges, one-touch light, charms, and other incriminating items

To this end, the *CP* has charged the Operatives to sustain the tempo and direct continuous onslaught Operations aimed to w**d out all the criminal elements and reduce crime to the barest minimum in the State.

Philanthropic Couple; Chief Sir GUO And Lady Patricia Okeke To Donate N30 Million To 1,000 Beneficiaries On Their Birthdays

In a remarkable display of generosity, Nigerian transport guru, Chief Dr. (Sir) Godwin Ubaka Okeke (GUO) and Lady Patricia Okeke, through their foundation, Godwin and Patricia Okeke Foundation, will be donating a total sum of N30 million to 1,000 beneficiaries. The beneficiaries, comprising widows, orphans, blind students, and deaf and dumb students, will each receive N30,000.

This charitable gesture coincides with the couple's milestone birthdays - Lady Patricia Okeke's 70th and Chief GUO's 75th. The foundation has extended invitations to various churches, including St. Monica Anglican Church, Fegge, St. Jude Catholic Church, Fegge, Onitsha, and all churches in Adazi Ani, including pentecostal churches.

Notably, over 400 widows from Anambra Central will benefit from this disbursement.

In addition to the cash donations, the foundation will also be commissioning two projects built for the Deaf and Dumb Central School, Odakpu, Onitsha, Anambra State. The projects include a two-story hostel building and a one-story classroom block.

The couple emphasized the importance of supporting the less privileged in our society.

Their selfless act is a call to action for other Nigerians to emulate their kindness and generosity.
