When living a busy city life, sometimes we forget about the immensity of the world out there. Our connection with the natural world is limited by the few experiences we could access on weekends but they’re not enough to remind us of the role humans play in an ecosystem.
Recently, we visited one of those places that take your breath away; An eye-opening, jaw-dropping, heart-melting type of experience that leaves you in awe and touches every fiber of your being. We are in Costa Rica. There are so many things to love about Costa Rica: it has no army, 98% of electricity comes from renewable sources, 50% of the land is protected areas, it’s the most biodiverse country on the planet by square meters, and they live the Pura Vida lifestyle. Pure presence and enjoyment of life.
This time, we find ourselves in Tortuguero in the north Caribbean side of the country. You can only arrive in via boat or plane, but the best experience is by boat. An hour ride through the canals already starts awakening your senses. We go deep into the jungle where the rivers meet the ocean, through wetlands, swamps, and rainforests, and on either side of the view, you can become a witness to the vastness of this land.
Our hosts at blew our minds with the experiences we’ll share next. If you travel responsibly, destinations like this can continue to exist. Choose your travel partners right and let the wonders of the wild unfold right before your eyes.
