Creator-Destructor Records is proud to welcome Tacoma, Washington-based thrash/crossover crew DENIAL OF LIFE to our roster for the release of their incredible new EP, “Witness The Power”. The debut single “Circle The Drain” is streaming everywhere now!

DENIAL OF LIFE is a metallic hardcore auditory assault forged in the Pacific Northwest. Channeling the speed and venom of Slayer, the primal fury of Sepultura, and the death-soaked grime of Entombed, they deliver a sound that is merciless, unrelenting, and steeped in darkness. With Brenna Gowin’s searing vocals riding the razor-sharp guitar work of Logan Miller and Dante Zickler, the crushing bass of Brian Bernard, and the pulverizing drums of Nick Cody, the band wages war on false hope and hollow promises.

DENIAL OF LIFE’s new EP, Witness The Power, is a grim testament to rage and ruin — and the beginning of relentless touring that will spread their chaos far and wide. DENIAL OF LIFE is not here to save you. They are here to burn it all down. Having only formed in 2019, the band has been making waves all over the world, bringing their unique style of crossover to headbangers and hardcore fans alike. Following several singles, promos, and the 2022 release of their debut LP, No Reason, extensive US touring and a four-week European headlining tour, the band now sets their sights on world domination

Witness The Power was engineered by Jason Brooks, mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio (Nails, Kruelty, God’s Hate), mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Obituary, Internal Bleeding, Creeping Death), and completed with artwork by Stein Hansen.

“Witness The Power” will be released on 12” Vinyl, CD, and digitally via Creator-Destructor Records on November 7th. A music video, preorders, and more will be issued over the coming days.

🔨🚨🔨 Santa Cruz, California-based death metal squad TORTURE HAMMER will attack the population with their cruel, eponymous second EP through Creator-Destructor Records on October 24th.

After writing and releasing 2024’s “Dormant Horror” debut EP as a two-piece, TORTURE HAMMER vocalist Peter Pawlak and guitarist Sean Collins added drummer Max Mahmood (Iron Front, Manos De Fierro) and bassist Amir Sahabi (Caveman). With this fully fleshed-out lineup in place, the band stepped-up their game in every way on “Torture Hammer”.

The six tracks on “Torture Hammer” see the band’s attack fueled with even more aggression and antagonism, delivering their most deadly material to date. “Torture Hammer” was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Charles Toshio at Panda Studios in Fremont, California (Spy, Sunami, and Scowl) and completed with cover art by Martyrdoom Illustrations (200 Stab Wounds, Kruelty, Morbid Visionz).

The title track acts as the lead single to the eponymous EP; An endless onslaught of headbanging riffs leads the listener through a hellish scene before culminating in a traumatic, mosh-inducing breakdown finale.

Directly in support of the EP’s release, TORTURE HAMMER is poised to hit the Western US on their first ever tour, supporting All Shall Perish and more from October 3rd through 11th. The tour will be followed by a show in San Francisco with Mammoth Grinder and Iron Front on October 17th.

THE TOWER OF SILENCE
The cover for "Initium Mors" (the debut album from American Death Metal act, Barbarous, a.k.a. Barbarous Activities) was illustrated by veteran British artist, Dan Seagrave.

"The concept of the album art was taken from The tower of Silence," the band collectively comments. "The Tower of Silence is an ancient Persian concept, that takes the bodies of the deceased and places them into the tower to naturally decompose, so that the sacred ground elements and minerals wouldn’t be tarnished by the rotting bodies. Which kind of ties into our album title 'Initium Mors.' Translated to “Death is the Beginning” shows that through death not everything is final, that there’s still more happening beneath the surface. We approached Dan Seagrave with the concept, and what he did with our vision, and making it his own blew us away. The artwork embodies everything we’re hoping to accomplish with this record, and hopefully the listener feels the same way."

Seagrave says that he "took notes from [vocalist] Travis [La Berge] from the band who had ideas about a ‘tower of silence’ and with a certain medieval feeling. I saw in my mind an image in almost black and white, and with a design structure that suggests many generations of repurposing older buildings and stonework, re-use and reconstruction, whilst simultaneously in a state of decay and ruin. Reminiscent of a Piranesi etching of a Roman tomb, but still with a remaining age-old purpose as this somewhat mysterious tower of silence. Where individuals are ultimately drawn to, as if by some innate sense of fate or inescapable destiny. The sunken tombstones and flooded foreground add stillness with a foreshadowing of what lay ahead."

🚨RUINER 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! 🚨

“20 years ago today we released our second album Ruiner. Maybe the first time in our career that the scene had been anticipating what we would do next and that energized us.

We really felt we were making something special. Thanks to Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore for getting the best out of us and making us believe we were as good as we thought we were and the warm sound they achieved on this album is remarkable to this day.

Props to my dad Joe Reilly for recording our demos for this which Bill called some of the best sounding demos he has ever gotten from a band. It set the bar for it all, it really did.
