Yes. It's Thanksgiving again. A time when people are pressured, invited, and/or coerced into spending time with family. For some of us, it's a joy we've anticipated, for some, a time we've dreaded, for others a painful reminder. WHATEVER you're feeling, the best perspective is to know it's not about you and it's not about them. It's not about the food or the decorations or the music. It's about HIM.

Count your blessings. Present your worries to the Lord. Be thankful for what He is doing (even if you don't see it yet).

"Jesus was a friend of sinners,”

This verse is often used to justify compromise or going with the flow. Yes, Jesus was a "friend" of those who were outcasts and sinners... but if they weren't interested in drawing near to God, they would soon grow uncomfortable enough to depart, since his message was consistent. He wasn't consumed with "fitting in" but instead He was filled with the desire to offer TRUE freedom and eternal Life to all who had an ear to hear. We are repeatedly told to not be foolish, passive partakers in this world, but to be active agents of our Father in heaven.
