Epic Comics Epic Comics was Marvel's creator owned imprint in the eighties to early nineties. At the time it's titles were the coolest and slickest in the industry.

This is a page dedicated to Epic. Epic was a chance for Marvel to veer from their rigid mainstream comics and experiment with the form. The result was a line of terrific, accessible titles.

LAW, Epic's brutal, disturbing anti-superhero satire about a superhuman
policeman who hunts and kills heroes gone bad. Superman, Batman, Green
Lantern and Wonder Woman (remonikered Public Spirit, Private Eye,
Ganggreen and Celeste) were given a grotesque locker room portrayal as
depraved, perverted, scumbags. Between
Kevin O'Neil's amazing, twisted art and Pat Mills' smart, snotty
writing this was a seriously grisly, yet darkly hilarious comic of
unreal audacity with it's rage at hipocracy. It'd make a great movie but no one in their right mind
in Hollywood do it.

Liked Avatar? Forget it. Disney is committing Epic Comic's most well known title, ALIEN LEGION, to the big screen and as those familiar with the series can attest, it'll be the biggest sci-fi franchise of the coming decade.
