One thing we have been lacking lately (since last winter) is sustainable cold air...cold enough to support meaningful wintry precipitation.
We may get that chance next week. Some of our long-range forecast models have been sniffing out the possibility beginning Monday night with chances increasing Tuesday through Tuesday night.
This is something to keep an eye on and we will be monitoring trends in the data through the weekend.
SNOW NEXT WEEK? We are keeping an eye on trends that we've noticed in the forecast models for the period Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
A few of the models are hinting at a meaningful accumulating snow during this timeframe. We are still a few days away, but the forecast models have been trending toward a snowier solution for the middle of next week. We shall see.
BTW: The NAM, and GEM (Canadian) aren't in range yet so that's why they show zero. Same with the GRAF as its just coming into range of the timeframe for the expected snow.
Nothing set in stone yet, just something to watch in the coming days!
