Another media outlet caves to pressure from the MAGA crowd. While Charlie Kirk appeared to believe in freedom of speech it's apparent that many Republicans don't.

The publications in Alaska lost significant staffing after the owners made changes to an article that had drawn criticism from a Republican state lawmaker.

A sign of the times. Another newspaper goes all digital online. Good piece by the NYT on how the Atlanta Journal Constitution is making the transition.

The publication says the time is right to pour all of its resources into its online news operation and get its journalism “in front of the most people.”

It's interesting that Bezos is restricting the editorial section to content that praises "freedom and open markets" I thought that freedom of speech was one of the foundations of the American constitution and the bulwark of any good newspaper. But apparently in Trumpworld only opinions that praise the Dear Leader and his wealthy supporters is acceptable.

Another sign that Trump is trying to control the press. His flack says it's a chance for other news platforms to get access to the prez. BUNK!!!
You can bet the new press corps members will be right wing lunatic outlets that flatter Trump and pass on his lies without question.
One New York Times correspondent who used to cover Russia says it reminded him of the press relations in the Kremlin. No kidding.

In announcing plans to hand-select the reporters who can ask the president questions at many events, the White House is breaking decades of precedent.

CNN decides to layoff news employees to concentrate more on digital operations. Unfortunately they are late to the game. Others sites like the New York Times and apple news are already dominating the market. He talks about a "lifestyle" product. Does this mean they will stop covering Trump and push stories about how to get tickets to the latest Taylor Swift concert ? They have already demoted one of their anchors that Trump dislikes. Forget them. They are already in the MAGA pocket.

Both CNN and NBC News are planning layoffs this week as newsrooms transition away from linear TV toward digital audiences.
