This work was born out of a deep concern for the ignorance that continues to fuel division between South Africans and Zimbabweans, an ignorance rooted in a lack of shared historical understanding.
For too long, Nguni-speaking peoples have been separated by colonial borders, forgetting that our ancestors drank from the same rivers, spoke similar tongues and revered the same spirits. This list is not just about surnames, it is about restoring memory, dignity, and unity among peoples who were never meant to be enemies.
Let this be a step toward healing, education
and ancestral reconnection.
