What a superb series that was. Lots of takeaways for Pakistan and plenty to look forward to. Rizwan showed his brilliance of captaincy in every match, Pakistan bowling looked back to their best and opening duo finally started making runs. This series could not have gone better for Pakistan. Perfect use of conditions by Pakistan and going for the kill in all matches. Australia lacked a bit of everything but most importantly game awareness. They just could not bat till 40 overs in any match which led to their downfall while Rizwan’s bwoling attack backed him up by bundling them out before their quota ended. A series victory 22 years in the making is huge and one can only build on that. Onwards and upwards.

Oh What a Day. What a Demolition Job by Rizwan’s men. A captain who can read the game and use its resources according to the situation can change everything. Pakistan has turned up being underdogs and have gone on to lose a close one and then win big the next. Beating Australia in Australia is no mean feat for any Pakistani team but doing it with more than 20 overs to spare and 9 wickets tells something. This was their premium pace attack taken apart. Saim’s potential finally coming to the fore and when he is on song there are very few better. He alongwith Abdullah’s class just eased the chase for Pakistan but it was set hy wreck-it Rauf who has been on fire. A different bowler in Australia. The team is in form for the series decider on Sunday now.

A new dawn of ODI cricket for Pakistan. New captain, lots of turmoil but the usual for Pakistan. The X1 is announced and we see Irfan Khan debuting for Pakistan. Wishing him all the better for that but Pakistan missing a frontline spinner in this lineup. This could be crucial. They’re hinging their hopes on Kamran, agha and Saim to deliver. Kamran Ghulam is also debuting after toiling hard in domestic. Its the most difficult place to debut so go easy on the boys playing for the first time. The seniors tho Babar and Rizwan need to stepp up big time in the batting lineup for Pakistan to put up a fight.

So 2 days since we have won a major test series after 3 years and we are in turmoil again. The power hungry officials are ruining cricket bit by bit. Everybody is power hungry from top to bottom. Announing Rizwan captain and the squad for Australia 2 days before the travel is just the perfect illustration of what Pakistan cricket is. And then 1 day before travel the head coach resigns without even coaching in ODIs. PCB doing false promises to lure them in and then snatching away all the powers because they cannot keep their word. It is a circus and the chairman is the ring master. And do not forget the ring master has another job as well which is also a circus. One normal day of Pakistan cricket is all we ask. I guess we will never get that.

As I said yesterday today could be the last test of both matches and it did turn out to be like that. Pakistan steamrolled England because of England’s brainfade batting. Sajid and noman being the chief destroyer again and taking all the wickets. A mere score of 112 summed up England’s batting against spin when there were runs to be had on that pitch. A 100 to 150 lead wohld have troubled Pakistan big time but a big win after 3 years for Pakistan. A year in turmoil might finally get better. On the other hand, India lost at home after 12 years. This was bound to happen when you see the players thinking themselves as bigger than the game. Dont forget this NZ team is without williamson and just got thrashed by Sri Lanka. Doing what they did in India is no small feat. India have been outplayed in both matches. Jaiswal was the only bright spot in this match. Congratulations to Pakistan and New Zealand.

Oh what a day of test match cricket in the subcontinent. In Pakistan, it was topsy-turvy till the evening session where both teams were battling hard but a rear guard action from sayd supported by nauman and sahid has propelled them to the too and near a series victory. Takung a 70 run lead and then dismissing England’s top three puts Pakistan in the driving seat. Nobody thought this could happen two weeks ago. While on the other hand a 12 year record is under threat in Pune. New Zealand have been relentless while India have been quite ordinary. First with the bat and then with the bowl in the second innings and a mammoth target seems to be on the way. India will have to pull something really out of the box to save their home test series record which now looks under serious threat and there is every chance both games end tomorrow.

An eventful day of test match cricket in Asia. Two rank turners produced by two neighbours but the toss was won by the opposing team. England and New Zealand chose to bat first and were bowled out for quite near scores. England’s lower order saved them while washington saved India with seven-for. Both matches are in the balance at the end of first day with records on the line. India’s home test record and Pakistan’s losing record. This is going to be two eventful test matches which we are going to enjoy. Test cricket is going to produce two thrillers side by side. Hop on for the ride.

Pakistan win at home after 3 years. Oh how Long we have craved this. Pakistan finally cracked the code of playing at home and using home advantage. It was pretty evident some hard decisions needed to be taken and it paid off. Sajid and nauman spun their way to history. Taking 20 wickets betweent them is no small feat. Winning the toss was crucial and it showed. The win was something which was needed and it finally came. I hope it can kickstart a new era in Pakistan cricket but still question marks hang around a few players in that lineup. What will Pindi offer? We will have to wait and see. Until the enjoy the win. Pakistan Zindabad.

Finally, Pakistan in the Driving seat of a test match at home. A rarity from the past three years now might become reality. A win at home looks closer than ever. Sajid ripped through the English batsmen and then stood firm in front if their bowling challenge along with the ever reliable Salman Ali Agha. Salman has become a mainstay in that lineup and probably the best player of this team at the moment. He made significant contribution which propelled the lead to almost 300 and now bowlers have the task in hand. Pitch is helping and 8 wickets to go, Pakistan would fancy their chances but England will have a big say. All eyes in Multan tomorrow where a riveting day of cricket awaits us.

What an enthralling day of cricket in Multan. Both teams fighting hard and the pitch finally turned pakistan’s way. Last hour it did work wonders and it tilted the game Pakistan’s way. Game is poised very nicely but Pakistan needs to seize control of it tomorrow and try to bat big as the pitch will only deteriorate further. Sajid khan is going to have an important role come day 4 and 5 and he seems really up for it. Really good day of cricket.

The result never mattered when you had entered the field with a heavy heart but only the star on your chest mattered. You did everything with dignity and led so well the whole tournament. I hope you heal soon from your loss.

Finally a good day of test cricket in Pakistan. Engaging and enthralling. Pitch offering something to the seamers and spinners. Batters grinding it hard. This pitch was long due. A balanced day at the end. I feel England are slightly ahead but all the headlines would be about Kamran Ghulam. Making his debut, replacing the country’s premier batsmen and all the pressure upon him from all corners. This was all before the start and then he walks out at 19/2 which makes his task even harder but he stood there like a rock and scored a brilliant century. He will remember this for his entire life. All those hard yards in the domestic has finally paid off and there is still hope in the system because of people like Kamran. Well done Kamran. Many more to come and Shan needs to go as soon as possible. Rizwan agha Jamal to take it to near 400 would be ideal for Pakistan.
