Random Records Random Records is a non-profit label created exclusively to help projects supporting indigenous comm

There are, today, over 300 million people, including at least 5000 distinct indigenous tribes in 72 countries that live under conditions of oppression and forced cultural assimilation. These people have historically been excluded from the decision-making processes of the modern states that have been formed in their ancestral lands and they live marginalized by the modern societies. Many have been targeted by paramilitary guerilla groups that serve policies of profit with total disrespect to human rights and dignity. The grievances and interests of indigenous people can be very similar around the globe when it comes to the struggle for preservation of their identity, cultural heritage natural way of life.

RANDOM SELECTORS 001 — CUCUMBARA: DANCENAUTICA

Here we go. The first journey begins.

We are very happy to present Cucumbara, from Ekaterinburg, Russia, as the first DJ selected from our community for Random Selectors.

Her session, Dancenautica, takes us through almost two hours of Random Records music - playful, psychedelic, eclectic and full of unexpected turns.

In Cucumbara's words:

“I'm inspired by live instruments in psychedelia. I love eclecticism and crazy, fun trips, which is what I wanted to express in this mix — together with my love for these artists and the label. Na zdorovie!”

Cucumbara discovered Suomisaundi and freeform in 2024, influenced by musician friends from Tyumen and its Finnish-trance connection. Since then, she has been playing at events and festivals around Russia and participating in Suomisaundi Sundays by Trance Bum Production.

What caught our attention in this mix was the storytelling and track selection. It feels like a proper psychedelic rollercoaster, digging through very different corners of the Random Records catalogue.

And that's exactly what we wanted Random Selectors to be about:

Different DJs. Different stories. One catalogue.

Inspired by mythological landscapes and the quiet madness of northern nature, the result is a world where Finnish folklore doesn’t just survive - it finds a new form.

RANDOM SELECTORS — OPEN CALL

We are opening the Random Records catalogue to the DJs and listeners who have supported the label throughout the years.

Random Selectors is a new DJ mix series created to give members of our community the opportunity to build their own journey through the music released by Random Records.

Every two months, we will select one submitted DJ set and publish it through:
— Random Records SoundCloud: almost 6,700 followers
— Random Records YouTube: more than 3,300 subscribers
— Facebook, Instagram and Telegram

The series will also feature exclusive sessions from Random Records DJs Dixie Krystalz, Hënkį, GO, Karmatron, Mir and Dark el Kante.

This is open to everyone:
You do not need to be a professional DJ.
You do not need a large following.
You do not need to have previously worked with the label.

The only requirements are:
— Every track in the session must have been released by Random Records.
— The session must be between 60 minutes and 3 hours.
— The audio must be delivered as a 320 kbps MP3 or WAV.
— A complete tracklist with timestamps must be included.

Random Records has released close to 1,000 tracks, so there is plenty of space to create something personal, strange, deep, playful or completely unexpected.

We are happy to welcome Mir to the Random Records DJ roster.

Based in Serbia, MIR has been involved with music since an early age, from classical violin studies to playing in metal bands before finding her place in the psychedelic underground scene.

Since starting her DJ journey in 2015, she has developed a distinctive style that moves naturally between suomisaundi, goa trance, old school psytrance, forest, dark psy and downtempo, always focusing on emotion, storytelling and atmosphere rather than formulas.

MIR is also one of the founders of Ages Of Love, the world's first women-only trance party organization, active in Serbia since 2017.

Over the years she has performed at festivals and events including S.U.N. Festival, India Fest, Hueznar Festival, Cycles Of Life, Element Festival and many others, while also collaborating with projects such as Global Sect Music, Dat Universe and Human Spectrum Records.

We look forward to sharing dancefloors, forests, musical adventures and good moments together.

New Random Records Radio Show is now up on Radiozora SoundCloud.

ERÄTARKASTAJA | Random Records Series Ep. 35

For this episode, Finnish producer Erätarkastaja presents a previously recorded Suomisaundi Sundays set; a 1h30m journey he describes as one of the strongest pieces of sound he has been able to put out so far.

Far from the usual party circuit, Erätarkastaja approaches sound from a more hermit-like place: distance from club culture, deep listening, solitude, and a personal connection with suomisaundi that feels more emotional than functional.

This one is not a standard DJ mix. It’s music for forest floors, headphones, inner movement and unexpected states of mind.
