Bands To Fans Social media and sales operations for professional musicians. Learn more at https://www.bandstofans.com/ Hi. I make musicians' lives easier.

I work with Huey Lewis & The News, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Cowboy Mouth, and other artists. I take the painful, time-sucking chaos of running their online world off their shoulders. AND I develop custom content for their social media. https://www.bandstofans.com/

"When I first started playing drums, I did not have the patience for lessons. I just wanted to play music in a band. That's all I wanted to do. I didn't want to sit and learn. But now I love the lessons I am taking with Henrique De Almeida. He is so inspirational. It is completely enjoyable. He's got me feeling like I did when I first picked up a pair of sticks and started playing. I am that enthusiastic about it." Bill Gibson of Huey Lewis & The News

"I usually have a notebook or a loose leaf book for each record. And we fill up that book with everything we wrote while making that record. Down the road, if we need a line or two for a new record we are working on, we can pull from that older notebook. That's the thing about doing this a lot. If you keep at it, you start building a backlog of material." - Professor Louie & The Crowmatix

"I have never gotten tired of playing "Jenny Says" in concert. 1) It's a good song. It still holds up. 2) It is usually either the last song or second-to-last song we play, because it's such the musical money shot. The whole show is building to that point. People are genuinely looking to let go. That moment of letting go is what the whole show is all about. It's what the whole rock and roll experience is about. It's about leaving your troubles and your worries behind and just celebrating in that moment. And we were lucky enough to have our biggest hit so far be about that very experience." - Fred LeBlanc of Cowboy Mouth

Folk music veterans John McCutcheon and Tom Paxton discuss their collaborative album "Together Again." The conversation explores their songwriting philosophy of addressing macro issues through intimate personal stories, their creative partnership that has flourished through Zoom co-writing sessions, and their optimistic view of folk music's current health. They reflect on mentorship from Pete Seeger, the importance of surrendering to the creative process, finding success outside mainstream formulas, and maintaining artistic vitality throughout their careers. The interview touches on specific songs from the album while offering insights into collaboration, the role of technology in creativity, and the enduring power of storytelling in music. (Note: At one point Tom drops from the call and is unable to reconnect.)

I am developing a new service. The working title is Music Industry Sales Operations. It’s geeky, but so am I. I have already started building the systems and structure for it with my existing clients. In brief, you have artists, venues, managers, record labels, etc. If you drew a Venn diagram covering each group’s responsibilities, while there would be some overlap, there would also be a lot of work not covered by any circle. By taking that on, I have seen that it provides much-needed support for each group. It also greatly improves the collaboration and communication between everyone. More to come…

Kim Wilson of clients The FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS: Performing a live solo is like boxing. If you want a guy to bring his hands down, you go to the body and keep going to the body. Then he brings his hands down, and you throw the knockout blow.

Fred LeBlanc of clients Cowboy Mouth : As a musician, it is important to understand that the audience is not there to celebrate you as a person. As I always say, even Mick Jagger has to sell beer. This is a service industry. If you understand that, then you will understand what the audience wants and needs out of you. People give you their time, energy, and money. And all they want in return is a good time. We try to provide that and more.
