If you're wondering why AutoCast radio (our automation's 24/7 demo stream) is going silent from time to time, it's because we're testing out switcher capabilities in AutoCast. Since the switcher has no audio source connected with it (no satellite service connected), the "network" segments are just silence. But rest assured, we're just in testing mode...it's all good. We'll be back to regular music programming in another couple days.

We Can't Always Be There!
During times like these, and even during more normal times, it's not always possible to be present at the radio station. Those are the times when t's nice to know AutoCast is on the job, running stably and non-stop, and even notifying you of what it's up to!
E-Mail Notifications
AutoCast's built-in e-mail notification system alerts you of tasks, procedures, and steps it is taking. It will give you a heads up if you're running low on hard drive space, for example, or alert you that a log has been reloaded, or a silence sense has occurred. It's little touches like these that help you stay on top of things...and feel confident that AutoCast is doing the same.
AutoCast is projected for official release in System 6 later this spring, but is available now to Early Adopters for just $499, a $500 savings. Station-in-a-Box systems with computer are discounted to just $1199, an incredible price break that will definitely end when System 6 is out officially. Satellite Programming? No Problem.
We're moving swiftly toward the System 6 finish line, and have just passed another milestone...switcher interfacing! AutoCast now works with the Broadcast Tools line of switchers, including the SS 4.4, ACS 8.2, and SS 16.4 models. With AutoCast, you will be able to:
Join Satellite Programming...
AutoCast has simple to use, yet powerful timing abilities and can easily be made to move into satellite programming at any given time. Route any input to any output on your switcher.
Break Away...
Your automated switcher routing will stay on for however long you choose. You can set a specific length for things like newscasts, or make your switcher event longer than required, so segments that vary in length can be exited by a relay trigger from the network.
Do "Magic Calls" and "Miracalls"...
Play specific liners, IDs, etc. right over the top of satellite programming based on triggers from the network such as "Magic Calls" and "Miracalls." We call them "HotTracks." You can set up HotTrack lists for any number of different satellite services. Not only can defined relays trigger specific announcements, but the announcements can even be automatically rotated.
Relay Mania...
In addition to responding to incoming relays, you can also send relays...an engineer's dream. We include commands to send a latch, an unlatch, and a single step latch/unlatch. Let AutoCast start the coffee in the morning, and lock up the building at night!
Not Just From the Logs...
AutoCast's bottomless supply of configurable buttons can be used to do switcher routing as well, so you can have a button that plays the network, brings in audio from another studio, etc. You can also assign outgoing relays to buttons.
So, YES, you can indeed have a "Make Coffee" button.
Macros...
You can do "salvo" events from your program log that will route multiple audio channels in a single command. These salvo switcher routings can also be assigned to our ButtonPad buttons.
Always On - Reserved Switcher Channel...
AutoCast has a place in settings where you can reserve one switcher routing for AutoCast audio output itself, which is kept on at all times.
Always Responsive - Reserved Relay...
In addition, you can assign a relay that is always actively "listened to" by AutoCast, giving you the ability to set up a physical pushbutton you can place anywhere you like in your studio that can be used to start the next event in AutoCast.
Clear Switcher...
You can configure a button that clears all switcher channels except the reserved one, in case you ever want to "clear the board" on your switcher quickly and easily.

Merging Traffic Ahead!
We all know the hazards of badly merging traffic...the conflicts, the collisions, the carnage...oh, the humanity! No, we're not talking about cars here, but the other kind of traffic, the one with a capital T.
TuneTracker System 6 can help keep your Traffic on the straight and narrow with our built-in, easy-to-use Configurator, which lets you set things up to be able to merge-in commercial schedules from pretty much ANY Traffic software, including all the major ones. Whether your Traffic log entries are separated by commas or tabs, and regardless of their order, the Configurator can be used to tame them for use in AutoCast.
Shown here is the Configurator in action. As you specify the layout, Configurator automatically updates the lower window pane to show you the results. When you have it tuned to the spacing your Traffic logs contain, everything just works!
Once you've set it up, that's it. You just mark the cart IDs of your ads (we call them Spot IDs, same exact thing), and AutoCast will find and play them beautifully.

It's a wet Saturday here in NE Wisconsin, and AutoCast is in a rainy day mood. In the screen shot, you can see the current conditions, the forecast, and a beautiful sunshower background.

AutoCasting "the Birds"
AutoCast's broadcasting capabilities won't stop at what's available on your hard drive. We can also handle your satellite programming. AutoCast Pro's dextrous switcher interface makes it easy to join satellites (birds) for music and talk show segments of any length, and cut away from them based on time, receipt of a relay, or a combination of both. We also handle signals for hot tracks, "magic calls," IDs, etc.
Our switcher capabilities extend beyond the basic. We can also fire outgoing relays (momentary, latch, and unlatch). Relay events can be scheduled right in your program logs to do all kinds of imaginative things around the station, from locking the doors at night, to starting the coffee in the morning!

What you want, when you want it.
One of AutoCast's strengths is its ability to schedule any THING to happy at any TIME.
First...every hour of every day can contain different programming. So you're not locked into using the same format clock all the time.
Second...our "Time Correct" and "Interrupt" features give you complete power over when things happen within each hour. For example, let's say you have a drop dead start time required for a network/satellite event or a local newscast. AutoCast can fade what's currently playing and go to it directly at the time specified. If you have a looser schedule, you can instead opt to have AutoCast allow the current song or other event to finish, but then skip past any fill songs, to the feature you require to play next "at or near" a specific time.

Our new MakeMyDay app makes each step in the log creation process a pleasure. MakeMyDay is three applications in one, and accompanies AutoCast as part of the System 6 radio automation suite.
In it, ClockMaker's graphical interface gives you the ability to drag and drop to add elements to format clocks using any of the MANY commands available, each configurable to your exacting specifications. You can create an unlimited number of format clocks, each one completely distinct. Talk about creative freedom! AutoCast Reveal, Continued: Pinwheels Everywhere!
In radio, rotations are like pinwheels. Each one is in its own little world, spinning away. AutoCast loves them, and carries them in lots of fascinating directions.
- Rotate audio files
There are "cart rotations," patterned after the tape cartridges of old. Rotate a group of...well, a group of anything! Rotate announcements, promos, PSAs, liners, sweepers, even songs. Rotate all the songs by a particular artist. Rotate through your jingles. Rotate by Genre, rotate by...well, you get the idea. Rotate by anything, and any quantity of things. You can have as many of these colorful pinwheels spinning as you like, each with as many "blades" as you choose. We're mixing our metaphors....carts and pinwheels, but you get the idea.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg in AutoCast. You can rotate other things just as colorfully and creatively. For example:
- Rotate talkbeds
Your voice track recordings can have talkbeds under them, which is a great way, on a music station, to keep music happening even while the announcer is having his or her say. The talkbed can be added automatically by AutoCast, and you're not locked into just one of them. You can set up talkbed rotations with your choice of compelling instrumental music that fits your radio station format. When there's only enough time left in the voice track to fit over the ramp of the song that follows it, AutoCast transitions from the talkbed to the song's intro, and ends the voice track by bringing up the song to full volume just in time for the singing to start.
- Rotate hot tracks
You can set up rotations of audio files and assign them to buttons onscreen. You can have a PSA button, a jingle button, etc. Each time you hit the button, the next item matching your rotation criteria will play.
- Rotate scripts
You can assign a series of live-read scripts to a button, for your announcers to read. Each time they hit the button, the next script in a series appears in the scrolling textbox. That way, you can control the frequency of what gets mentioned in the way of station promos, image lines, community announcements, etc.
- Even rotate backgrounds!
As you may have heard, AutoCast's striking interface is made even more beautiful by your choice of backgrounds. You can add comments to image files (such as "morning," "coffee," "mountains," "springtime," or "travel," and then put a very simple command into your program logs (playlists) that calls the backgrounds up at various times throughout the day, week, or year, like this:
