It's my first ever home baking vlog! And as a homebaker wannabe, I'm baking a tasty but super easy Coffee Pound Cake 😋☕🍰

Watch the video to learn and follow the recipe~ And as I'm not a seasoned homebaker, your feedback on how I can improve my Coffee Pound Cake will be greatly appreciated! 💖

Ingredients:
Unsalted butter, 120g or 1/2 cup
White sugar, 100g or 1/2 cup
Whole egg, 3 large pieces
Cake flour, 140g or 1 cup (I'm using Joy of Baking brand)
Baking powder, 3g or 1 tsp
Warm milk, 1 tbsp
Instant coffee granules, 1 tsp

If you have easy recipes even a beginner baker like me can follow, please share it! I would love to try it out 😍

Making coffee at home and being a home barista [wannabe] has kept me sane throughout the community quarantine and everything else that has been happening ☕✨

And although I make good iced lattes (yes yes, says me 😆), cafe latte is another story... I like the taste of the ones I make, but how I wish I can also make latte art~

These days, I prefer making cappuccinos since I tend to foam up my milk a lot anyway 😅🙈

BUT i'm not admitting defeat. I still want to learn how to properly steam milk, how to consistently get that silky wet paint texture, how to pour the milk to create latte art, and everything else that goes into the craft.

A good morning starts with a cup of coffee~ ☕✨ Though admittedly, I enjoy my afternoon cups too 🥰

I've always loved pairing my lattes and cappuccinos with breakfast food (sandwiches, yogurt and granola, omelette, silogs), and sometimes even with pasta and other savory dishes 🙈

Pour-over black coffee, on the other hand, is saved for sweets 😍😋 Cakes, tarts, cookies, and the list goes on~ 🍰🍩🧁

How I wish I'm a better baker so I can easily make baked goods to pair with my coffee 🙏 So timely though that Breville Philippines is holding its VIRTUAL COFFEE FESTIVAL. And it starts today 😍

The first among the 3 FB live sessions is on COFFEE-THEMED DESSERTS with Chef Edward Mateo, today at 2PM!

From blogger to vlogger

Hi all! Sorry I haven't updated this page for so long. I also haven't been consistently posting on the blog. But I just want to share with everyone that I'm now trying my hands on vlogging. (I have 4 videos uploaded on Youtube at the moment.)

I'll be posting weekly vlogs which will feature my simple home life, my cats -- Kitkat and Meiji, my plant-babies, and of course, food (from easy homecooking to restaurant and cafe eat-outs). If you're familiar with aesthetic vlogs and Korean vloggers, it's the style I'm going for with my videos.

I know this is a big change -- from writing to filming and from pictures to videos. However, it will still be the content I want to share with everyone, just in a different format.

I love traveling and going on staycations. I also love sticking to my skincare and beauty regimen even when i'm not at home. But what I don't love is packing big tubes, tubs and bottles of my favorite products!

While i've already started repacking my faves into travel sizes, it helps a lot when there's already a travel-friendly handy version. And Pond's Clay Wash agrees as it now has sachets (available in Puregold)!!! 😍

One important thing I've learned from is to surround myself only with things I love. Compared to the past few years, I'm down to 30% when it comes to the things I owned. (And I actually feel like I still have a lot more I need to let go of!) It should always be quality and the happiness you get from owning your stuff, over quantity. Even with less, it should bring you more joy. And while it may seem trivial to some, when it comes to facial tissues, I apply the same principle. I buy a brand/variant that serves more purpose -- quality product (durable 3-ply), and in a nice packaging I would want to display and see in my space.
